<div class="quote_poster">Quoting mylie10:</div><div class="quote_post">You could have Amare play center, but is he a center? Is Garnett a center? Because he could play there. They put Jalen Rose and Paul Pierce at the 3 from time to time, but they're both 2 guards. I think many of you call Zarko a power forward because of his length. I look at what the guy does to determine what he is. He can play the four, but not POWER forward.</div>
While I agree that he has the skills of a three, he has no physical advantage over threes. His shooting, handle, and rebound are average for a three and his speed or quickness is probably a little below average (about Dunleavy quicks). He is so much faster and has a great handle for a four which is why we played him there. If he were playing Lamar Odom or Rashard Lewis he would have no advantage and would be easily posted up or taken to the hoop, not to mention how easy it would be for any 3 to keep up with Zarko while playing defense. We played him at the four (and even 5 against Yao) because we get much more offensive production form him than if he were playing the three.

That being said, I believe he will split minutes between 3 and four this season because Ike will likely get alot of the back-up four minutes.

Yeah, Zarko has skills for 3, but his skills works much better against slower 4 then 3. I serioulsy doubt that Zarko can drive past faster 3's at will like how he does against 4's. Also, while he does have height advantage, he doesn't go in inside, so it really doesn't matter much.

    Then, there are min problems.

    There are total 240 mins (48 * 5) in one game, and 1, 2, 3 takes 144 mins.

At the end month of last season...

    Davis 37.3
    Richardson 34.4
    Dunleavy 33.3
    Fisher 27.1
    Pietrus 21.3

Those five guys alone averaged 153.4 mins taking 8.4 mins from PF slot. In next season, Pietrus wants more mins, Monta already looks promising, Cheaney may play time to time, and there are bunch of guards we signed as well. Also, we likes to run, which favors small line ups, not big line ups with Zarko at 3. Even if we assume that Fisher is gone, that only leaves rougly 17 mins for all other guards...

Guys like Zarko have no true position, but they are great in being able to play 3-5 positions at duty. There's checks and balances. While Zarko can't rebound well or play in the post against big players or guard smaller players, he's great on the drive on anybody slower and can outstep and shoot over anybody shorter. Getting at the rim while distributing off the dribble or off the high post inbound pass are his strengths so he makes others better like Mickael Pietrus. He can also shoot pretty well, but he's crafty with the show them the ball move and knows where to be off the ball. Very gifted athletic and smart player who has some explosiveness for a tall lanky guy who is mostly supposed to be about finesse. He's got some power when he's playing aggressive as he tries to take it to the rack hard going baseline against stronger defenders.

So what we got here is a guy that is a nightmare to guard on offense on certain matchups and he can distribute the ball. He is aggressive and is a good decision maker usually, despite recent play in SL and training camp where he is turning the ball over like mad.
