Good signing. If they lost Evans, not only would Seattle have lost one of the top rebounders in the game, but one of the best defenders at the PF position also. Overall, I'd say they did pretty well in the offseason considering many of their players were free agents. Too bad they couldn't re-sign Daniels or the league's richest back up in NBA history.

This signing comes at the expense of losing O.T. How messed up is it that Omar Thomas has been working out in order to be ready for training camp and he gets cut before he even has a chance to make it on the court? So he hasn't played in a summer league game, or been in training camp, and has probably seen many lucrative deals overseas go by the wasteside. I feel for the kid and I hope he's able to get his career jumpstarted soon, preferably across the ocean. Next year's offseason will be much more interesting than this offseason considering that their will be possibly 5 unrestricted free agents available--and I'm guessing that there is no way that 3 of them will be returning. The job of a GM never ends. Slick Rick has some interesting decisions ahead of him.

I don't doubt Reggie was told to limit the # of shots he took - probably something like - "when he get an offensive board, reset the offense" - but he makes it sound like the coaching staff refuseed to let him utilize a deadly 15 foot jumper or devastating back to basket game. Its not like he gave any reason when he did get an opportunity to show he deserved more touches. Actually, the more I think about, Reggie is right - my guess is that Nate told him his role was to shoot 53.4% from the line - maybe Weiss won't restrict him so much and he'll bump that up to 57% this season
