Bobbit, Bynum, Conroy, Green, Wafer, Vujacic, and Smush Parker? HEEEEELP! Is it just me or do we need some veteran help? Why didn't the Lakers make any more moves? Doesn't anybody think we need a real vet, besides Kobe. I know Lamar is good, but I think all that pot makes him a little lazy. He needs to be more intense. They could be one of the best duos since Jordan and Pippen. But even they had veterans on the team. Which brings me to my conclusion, WILL THE LAKERS ACTUALLY MAKE THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR? IF SO HOW FAR WILL THEY GO?
Well they did get Corie Blount back from when they had him in 99. He's played for Phil Jackson from '93-'95. I don't know if it's rock solid veteran leadership, but it's a start. THe only problem is he hasn't played since the 03-04 season. He's gonna be rusty
dont forget about aaron mckie. being a sixers fan, as well as a laker fan, i know that he has great leadership skills. lets just hope he gets it done on the court.

I believe the Lakers will make the playoffs if Kobe plays a minimum of 75 games. I believe we can make WCSF or maybe even WCF if everything goes well. You can tell I am optimistic, but I have faith. Kobe-Lamar-Kwame means defence! Something we didn't have last year. We also have a large team this year. For us to do well, we need a pure shooter and possibly a vet or two. Its not a big issue because we have Phil, Kareem and Scottie Pippen to provide that from the bench or as mentors. All 3 have been their, done that, over and over again. Between them, I think they have 20 rings, not to mention Kobe's 3 aswell. Name another team that has 20+ rings in their camp.

If people say our bench is weak, we probably have some of the greatest basketball minds ever with Clipboards in their hands sitting on the hardwood. The team itself is young, but Lamar has had a taste of playoff success, with the heat two years ago. Kobe has been through so many hostile game situations that hardly anything phases him any more, and Aaron Mckie has played many a play off game himself. I think the youngsters on this team will be eager to prove everyone wrong, and want to be part of the Lakers return to greatness. Something the Lakers do have that a lot of teams dont is this: the players know their roles. Kobe's the man, Lamar next, and then the rest are role players that will take what the defense gives them. You can't say that for teams like The Rockets, Miami, New Jersey, Kings etc. I think the Lakers will gell well under Phil's watch and Kobe's lead.
