<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Guard Lindsey Hunter underwent surgery on his left ankle Wednesday. Hunter, who averaged 3.8 points for the Pistons last season, had arthroscopic surgery to remove loose particles in the ankle. He will be re-evaluated in a week and no timetable has been set for his return. The procedure was performed by Dr. Arthur Manoli at St. Joseph's Mercy Medical Center in Pontiac.</div> <div align="center">Source</div> Though his numbers are not sixth man of the year worthy he and Antonio where the best bench players the Pistons had during last years playoffs. Hopefully for their sake he will not be out for long though the Pistons bench has gotten better this offseason with signings, the draft, and Darko getting experience overseas, but a veteran leader is always a good thing to have on your second unit, and a tough thing to lose.
I think this is a good thing in a way for the Pistons. Gives Carlos Arroyo a real chance to make an impact as the back-up point guard. Also gets Hunter ready for the later part of the season.
The reason Larry Brown didn't like Arroyo is because he is a defensive liability Other than that he's a good backup PG and I'm sure Flip Saunders won't care as much about defensive as much as Brown. That also means the rest of the Pistons bench will log a lot more minutes this season than they did before.
The Pistons already have a replacement for Lindsey Hunter. The signing of Maurice Evans was a brilliant move once again by Joe Dumars. This kid is a beast on defense, and has improved his offensive game every season. The Kings are going to regret not matching the offer for him and letting him walk. Mo Evans is very physical and has the quick feet you like from a defensive specialist. I think the Pistons signed him specifically to guard Dwayne Wade next season.
