Maybe I should have asked before I okayed the swap, but being offered Lebron is just too much to turn down. How do you think I fared?
In my casual Yahoo! fantasy league (http://basketball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/nba/11695/8 ) I offered up a few players hoping to fish out LJ, to my surprise I received a counter-offer that still included Lebron. I acted fast and accepted. Did I get hosed?

I swapped: Shawn Marion, Lamar Odom, Samuel Dalembert, Tyson Chandler for Lebron James, Jalen Rose, Udonis Haslem, Andre Igoudala.

    I wouldn't have done it.

Marion is pretty close to LeBron from a Fantasy perspective. Odom, Dalembert and Chandler are head and shoulders over Haslem, Rose and Iggy.

What Fever said is true. Shawn is just as good as Lebron in the fantasy world. He went in the first round in my draft.

    trade package

you trade like me! so i like that. you traded for players i love and got rid of some i do not. so i like that. i LOVE iggy and i think rose could be huge this year with marshall gone and the way the raptors are set up for this year. i got really big on haslem last year also as he just got better and better as the season went on... BUT, how will his role diminish with all of the off-season moves by riley for his squad this year?

so, yes, it is true, marion does offer as much as LBJ and might even challenge / topple the kid's numbers with amare's absence in the beginning of the year. it will be interesting to see what dalembert does over the course of THIS season too.

I'm sorry, can you explain your reasoning behind saying "Rose could be huge this year" ?!

You got hurt in that trade big time.

LBJ approximately equals Marion. Either player could be better, I would guess LBJ will be a tad better.

Chandler vs. Haslem = Chandler is center eligible(really valuable), he is only improving and will have a big role on the Bulls(b/c Curry is gone). Haslem has Antoine Walker around now, which will reduce his minutes.
    Chandler > Haslem (value wise)

Odom vs. Rose = Rose will probably get less minutes with the re-signing of Bonner and the arrival of Joey Graham and Charlie Villeneuva. While Odom will probably get more touches with Phil Jackson as coach, and has very little competition at the SF spot.
    Odom's value > Rose's value

Dalembert vs. Iggy = Sammy is a decent center which gives him value, and Iggy puts up nice stats in everything but ppg. Iggy has Salmons coming in needing some minutes, Korver needs his, but Iggy will probably maintain his fair share.
Iggy is better or equal to Dalembert.

unless your team has other players to fill those spots Haslem, Rose and Iggy will have it wasn't a real good trade

i think you got the bad end, but it's not as bad as ppl are saying. if you wanted lebron that bad than i guess it was worth it, but the other combo of guys you traded away were probably better.

Wow, I am real suprised at the replies. You did fine. While, I agree that Marion is very good Fantasy player, saying that he is on par with LeBron is just not right. LeBron is going to help you in a number of different areas. He is a 27 ppg guy who is also at the top of the League in Assists, all while being eleigle to play SG, which is very weak for players that help you at multiple position.

I understand the thinking that without Amare, Marion's numbers will rise, but I am skepticle. Without Amare's dominant scoring presence down low, Marion will get much more attention. Not only that, but Marion will play significant time at the PF position, which should raise hie rebounding, but will also hurt his 3 point numbers and Marion is not a guy that excels when plays are called for him. He makes his living as a guy that thrives off of the other teasm focusing on someone else, and now that will not be the case.

LeBron is only going to improve, and on top of that, which player is more marketable for a later trade? I could go on and on, but I just had to respond telling you that you did good. Of course I don't know your scoring system or how many players at each position you start, or what other players you have to fill in, but generally you did good. LeBron is the best fantasy player in the League (KG is the only competition), and you did not give up any players that are absolutely crucial (other than Marion). Watch your waiver wire closely, and make the right moves to fill in at any positions that you might have weakened, and you will be fine.

You now have the best player in the League, at the weakest position in the LEague, so relax and enjoy having the manchild on your roster.
