During portions of Wednesday's practice, Antoine Walker found himself playing center, as the Heat was divided into three teams.

Although it's far too early to take that as a sign of things to come, it's already clear Walker has the versatility to play any of the three frontcourt positions.

And whether he starts or comes off the bench, Walker's versatility will almost guarantee him starter-like minutes in the upcoming season.

''Being able to play multiple positions may steal me an extra five minutes on the floor,'' Walker said. ``That could definitely be a plus. I just want to be on the floor whatever way possible. So I want to know what I'm doing and understand what's going on.

``So right now when I'm learning plays I'm trying to learn three spots and try to know where I have to be.''

He won't be playing center. They have Shaq, Zo, and Doleac. He did play center on Dallas didn't he?

Hmm...that'd be interesting but I'd only try it against a smaller team. We'd have a lot of quickness on the floor so if he plays center at all his supposrting cast would be JWill, Wade, Posey and Hslem. Damn that's a fast lineup.

I think you misunderstood the article if you thought he would be logging significant minutes at Center.
