<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">ST. CATHARINES?The Raptors have been slagged in various publications, belittled on the airwaves across North America and generally disrespected as an NBA team that has no chance to do anything of significance for the entire coming season.

That ticks Morris Peterson off no end. The Raptors are the only team the veteran swingman's ever been on.

"We've got a group of guys who are hungry," Peterson said after the Raptors wound up Week 1 of training camp with an intrasquad scrimmage here yesterday. "People predicted us to be last in the league, that's almost an embarrassment for us. If that doesn't make you mad and doesn't motivate you, I don't know what can."

    "We're taking that personally."

Peterson is in a unique position among his teammates regarding the team's place in the NBA pecking order.

As a rookie, he was an integral part of the franchise's glory year, a run to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals in 2001 but he's also been part of three wretched years since. He was a Raptor when it meant being on an up-and-coming young team, he's been a Raptor when it meant `when's the next blow up coming and which coach or general manager is washing out now.'</div>

Its good to hear Mo Pete a little vocal, sometimes I assume he isn't very passionate, because he doesn't seem like he has improved his game as much as I expected over the years.

Who knows, if everyone on our team wants to win, maybe we can scrape our way into the playoffs.

no offense but the raptors have a better chance at tying NO for last place then making the palyoffs.

    not even man
Raps should be 10th-11th place in the Eastern Conference
but if they all work together
we might have a slight chance of going 8th

as far as comparing raps to hornets: hell no
hornets are going to build around paul/smith
they dont haev a CB4 or a Rose
to put up big numbers every night

Hornets will be a lottery team again
and probably be last in the whole league

It would be great draft wise if that happened, but I don't like it when a team gives up, and I don't think Mitchell will give up. So we probably will be 10th or whatever, anything can happen in a nba season, so I don't rule out playoffs.
