<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> CHARLESTON ? With centers Eddy Curry and Jerome James in the fold, Knicks coach Larry Brown now sees 6-11 rookie Channing Frye as a power forward. But first the Knicks must get Frye back on the court. The Knicks' most alarming injury of training camp has occurred, and it had nothing to do with Curry's heart. The Knicks have shut down Frye indefinitely, at least for the rest of the Charleston camp with a stress reaction in his right foot. The Knicks said the stress reaction could be a precursor to a stress fracture. It's a shame because Frye was having a solid camp, contrary to a disappointing, foul-plagued summer league in Las Vegas. Selected eighth in June's draft, Frye sat out yesterday's practice and will miss workouts through Wednesday, after which the Knicks break camp. Frye is allowed to do some shooting. The Knicks announced Frye will undergo testing when the club returns to New York. Arizona coaches claimed Frye didn't miss a practice in his four years. "We'll rest and re-evaluate him," Brown said. "I don't want him doing anything until they figure out what's wrong."</div> The article also says Brown wants Frye to be playing power forward and he's very impressed by his range. I think he can develop into a Rasheed Wallace type of player playing power forward. What do you guys think?
I think it's huge LB gave him that vote of confidence.. and makes me even more comfortable knowing Channing is part of the team's future. I am scared about his foot though but am relieved that the team is taking precautions in making sure it doesn't get worse.
I always saw Frye as a PF for the Knicks. He has a good jumpshot and Like MrJ said he can extend his range like Sheed. I dont think the injury's that serious but I would rest Frye. LB likes Frye at the 4 because they already have enough depth at Center and not enough at PF. He still has to get more massive to compete with the East's forwards. I think we'll all want to know how this team has developed and the roles players will play on sunday vs the Mavs.
I have read all the articles, seen the summer leagues, watched old games of his at Arizona, read about the sore foot. MrJ, you see Frye as a Rasheed Wallace type of player. My view of Frye:
Hahahaha, good one. Yo knicks btw how's the sig goin? Anyways, Yea Frye looks like a softey now but i think he'll make progress. Duncan was kind of soft when he entered. Like i said he has to get more massive.

I made the comparison because they're the same height, have the same body type, are good shot-blockers, have pretty good range, and can be better on the boards.
I think he will be better off at PF. I just dont see him bumpin with many centers with his small frame. Now that he has the sore foot he needs to hit the gym and bulk up.
