Man i love this deal for the Celtics. Paul Pierce is probably a more all around scorer than Magette but the Celtics could use some change. Pierce said he would like to end his career with the Celtics from start to finish but it is a business. The Celtics should really do this trade. The Celtics would be great at SF and SG, Davis and Magette? Are you kidding me, those two would appear on sportscenter's top 10 every day. The Clippers get a go to scorer and thats basically all they need to compete in the West. Everyone thinks the Celtics are rebuilding but u aint rebuilding when u got talent like Jefferson, Green, West, and Blount on your hands. I consider the Celtics a playoff team, maybe a 6th seed at best but with 3 veterans like Lafrentz, Davis, and Magette and some young talent with that, u got yourself a good team. C- Lafrentz PF- Jefferson SF- Magette SG- Davis PG- West Walker is gone, and Pierce should be too, that era is over man.

Other players are also said to be involved. “They have been working on a deal for the majority of the summer, and it appears the talk is heating up,” a high-ranking Eastern Conference official said. “There’s no doubt the Clippers have been dangling Maggette, and Boston seems pretty tempted.” Later, a Western Conference general manager responded to an e-mail from PBN.com that asked if he was aware of the possible deal. “I don’t know specifics, but I do know the Celtics are listening to offers for Pierce,” the GM wrote. “I know it because they hinted about (trading Pierce) to us in July. .. (Other GMs) I’ve spoken with in recent weeks have told me the Celtics really like Maggette.”</div> Source <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">u r down right crazy</div> If you're going to post, make sure your post is contributing to this thread.
I only make this deal if I can get Livingston in return. I'd be more than happy to include West and Allen, along with Pierce, for Maggette and Livingston. Of course, that doesn't work cap-wise, so we'd have to take Rebraca or Wilcox in the deal. Now, before I recieve death threats for saying that, I'll make it clear that it is not my wish to trade Pierce. The only reason I'd be willing to make the above deal is because it's close to equal value, and at this point, it seems evident that Celtics brass are trying their hardest to trade Pierce away.
This deal would be awful for the Celtics. They already don't have any veterans as it is. Too lose Pierce and only gain Maggette & Brand/Livingston isn't worth it at all. When they finally do trade Pierce (which I think most of us agree will happen sometime during this season) they need to get an All-Star veteran in return. That is what Pierce is worth, and Ainge shouldn't sell a Pierce trade short. P.S. Glad to join up here. I'm a big poster over at the CelticsBlog.com forums, and just found these forums today by a friend.
Welcome to, nice to have a big ol' C's fan helping us out over here. And you're right, this deal doesn't happen without some serious prodding on the part of the C's. They would need at least some sort of young gun to add to that list to make this deal go through, and Thrilla's right, we would probably have to take on somebody like Wilcox to get it done, and that doesn't sit with me either, so no. I say there is just no damn way this deal ever happens, and this is like the fourth time somebody's posted on this so let's let it go. Just kidding, but it is something of a silly idea, for both, but I'm always ready to listen to some other good trade proposals.
The C's are going way out of their way to deny a Pierce/Maggette trade. I think there's a 0% chance of this happening.
