<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Marc Jackson?s motto is play hard and play strong. These words are not tattooed anywhere on his body but he certainly wears those emotions on his sleeve. Since training camp opened on October 4th, Jackson has been one of the more vocal and intense players on the court. He has treated each scrimmage game as if it were Game 7 of the NBA Finals, which has made an immediate and indelible impression on his new teammates. ?I haven?t played with a guy like that since Oak,? said Vince Carter, referring to former NBA player Charles Oakley. </div> http://www.nba.com/nets/features/marc_jackson.html
yeah right.........vince hopes you`ll believe that marc jackson is intimidating people like the oak used to??
In no way does the article insist anything about intimidation. It explains that Jackson is the low post banger that we've been needing for a while, and he's a true hard worker.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">yeah right.........vince hopes you`ll believe that marc jackson is intimidating people like the oak used to??</div> As a Sixers fan seeing Marc Jackson play for about two seasons, he is easily one of the most physical players in the entire league. He is not like most big guys these days that chooses finesse over physicality. If he was athletic and is quick enough to at least keep up with Erick Dampier he would be starting on many teams in this league. The fact that he is very slow and lacks tremendous amount of athleticism is his back breaker. But then again, if he was athletic he would probably do like most big men these days and try not to get touched by playing a finesse game. Whatever the case may be the fact that Marc Jackson is a banger and ruthless/mean big man in the low post, will help the Nets out a lot. He's a career 80% FT shooter, draws a lot of fouls in the post and has a much underrated offensive game. You Nets fans just don't know how much I envy you guys that you have Jackson on your squad. The energy, screaming and vocal part of the game that you all saw from Martin will be there in Jackson.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting JUNIOR_SOPRANO:</div><div class="quote_post">yeah right.........vince hopes you`ll believe that marc jackson is intimidating people like the oak used to??</div> Vince Carter was talking alot about the tone that Jackson sets during practice...which is extremely intense...anybody who seen the Nets coverage of practice on NBATV earlier this week can tell that is the absolute truth. Jack wont be one of the most skilled bigman in the league(even tho I think his skill level is a bit underatted, he has nice range on the jumper..can score with his back to the basket)..but he will be one of the more pshyical ones...taking up space down low and putting a body on people. And besides Collins, we didnt rally have anybody willing to do that last year in a Nets uniform.
