Yes, but he would be banging and running around against smaller opponents rather than full blown centers. But yes, he does play really rough going at the hoop and the Suns need to run, cut, set pick n' rolls in order to create offense because Amare just isn't that good creating his own offense with the ball. I mean he's got a decent shot and working on some basic post moves and a dribble, but he just turns the ball over way too much when he tries to do things without a ballhandler. It's sort of like the problem with Chris Webber only I think Webber was the more complete ballplayer. Talk about great passing.

Yea Stodamire relys on his athletic ability for everything. It is bound to catch up to him sooner or later but I'm sure he'll be back and be just as effective.

The Suns looked a bit vulnerable with 2 starters lost and with Amare out they are hurting. I like that our odds are better but would more like us to beat them full strength. Amare, whether a C or PF is a guy who's playing a physical game in the paint. Getting banged and bruised is normal-what he got is just bad luck. Get Well (not too) soon Amare.

IT's weird that the Golden State forum has a better Amare thread than the Suns'. Anyhow I think Amare will be developing a lot more as a player. I think McDyess is the beginnings of a comparison. Amare's ceiling is much higher I think but the loss of athleticism (even a little below freakish would be unusual for him) will translate into a craftier player. I think he'll be a great player if not the phenomenal one he could have been.

The Warriors have a big, big market in the bay area. It combines the fans of the North Bay (Oakland, San Francisco) with the South Bay (San Jose). So any topic could be potentially bigger than another team's.

I was thinking about McDyess as well when i heard about this. The Suns may not fare too well the first half of this season but if they float around .500 a late season run with Amare may get them into the playoffs.

I was impressed at Amare's shooting touch last year. When he comes back this year, I doubt he'll have anywhere near the explosiveness he's accustomed to. But he's a good enough shooter to do what Murphy does. At worst he'll still have an impact. At best he'll be at 90% of his former self, this year.
