There is a thread started over on www.sonicscentral.com discussing this, but thought I'd bring it over here to get all your thoughts.

So tonight is the first preseason game against the mighty Trailblazers, forgive me for not really caring much. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to finally have something to talk about, but preseason to me is alot like foreplay...nice, but I don't really need it [IMG]

Swifty is getting the start because of Vitaly's pulled hamstring, and will get a chance to show if he's totally lost/out of his element, or if he can contribute enough on the rebounding/defensive/shotblocking end to warrant some minutes when the games matter.

That to me is about the only intriguing storyline I'll have to read about come tomorrow morning. Other than that, I'm just praying for no injuries, and some solid minutes for Swift, Moore, and Brunson so I can maybe get a better idea of the role they'll play this coming season. So what do you all hope to see in the coming games before they start to count?

I would like to see how far Wilkins came this summer. I am also hoping to see Murray get some minutes to see if he truly can be that AD type player we enjoyed having last year. I would like to see Evans solidify his starting spot and watch Vlade fall out of the rotation. I want to see Nate give dirty looks to all the players that bad mouthed him after he left. I want to see what these non-roster guys look like. I want to see Ridnour's face as dead serious as it was in the playoffs. Damn I'm happy Basketball is back.

I want to see if Joel Przybilla can continue where he left off last season, just because I like him.

Seven boards and a block in eight minutes.

And congratulations to big Johan, who has scored his first 'official' points as a Sonic.

Swift played bad, Petro played well. Nothing much else to report.

Nice to hear the fella's got together last night:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The real reunion took place the night before, after the Sonics arrived in Portland. Weiss, McMillan, Seattle general manager Rick Sund, assistant coaches Ralph Lewis and Jack Sikma, and player personnel director David Pendergraft met for a drink at El Gaucho Steakhouse.</div>

    No Wally or Howard [IMG]

If you have a look at the minutes break down, then I'd say we did pretty well to get that close. Damien was the only Sonic to play 20 minutes and basically everyone on the roster got at least 10 minutes of action. Ray only played 19, Luke only played 18 etc. No one attempted more than nine field goals either.

You compare that to Portland, where Telfair has played 32 minutes and their big names like Randolph, Przybilla etc all logged in the 20s. So really, they had a stronger line-up out there for the most of it, so I'm happy.

Nice to see Petro with three blocks, and Scales impressive too.

Bring on the Suns, who I doubt will have Nash and Marion playing big minutes.

I dont think we really need to worry about Brunson. He may have had a rough 10 minutes but overall you know what hes going to bring. Besides it really sounds like he isnt going to the be in the rotation anyways. We should be more concerned about what Flip does.
