By Mike Bresnahan, Times Staff Writer

HONOLULU -- This time, there was no comeback, not even the suggestion of one.

Unlike Tuesday, when they shrugged off a 16-point deficit and won by eight, the Lakers didn't have much to offer on Wednesday.

The Golden State Warriors led by 10 after the first quarter, 18 at halftime, 25 in the third quarter and earned an exhibition split with the Lakers, 112-81, at the University of Hawaii.

Kobe Bryant followed a 28-point effort in Tuesday's Laker victory with 11 points and five fouls in 24 minutes.

Lamar Odom, who eased into training camp after undergoing off-season shoulder surgery, looked like he was still adapting to life as a primary ball-handler in the triangle offense. He had three turnovers by halftime, including a behind-the-back pass that bounced through the lane and out of bounds, touched by nobody.

Odom finished with four points on two-of-eight shooting, and had three assists and three turnovers in 27 minutes. He also had a team-high nine rebounds. (source) </div>

The game last night reminded me of the games last season. No perimeter defense and constant mistakes leading to turnovers.

The Lakers were flat the entire game and were run off the court. Lamar Odom picked up two quick fouls and had to sit early on. This prevented the Lakers to get into any type of flow and the offense really struggled. Chris Mihm was pathetic in this game, and still doesn't know how to pass the basketball. The Lakers tried running the same play on back to back possessions with Mihm catching the ball and then Kwame Brown slashing to the basket for an easy layup. Both times Chris Mihm fires the 3 foot pass into the first row of the arena.

Will Conroy played heavy minutes in this game, but Baron Davis lit him up from the perimeter. Conroy kept playing off of Davis, so B. Diddy just drilled 3pointers on him. The Lakers also got killed on the offensive glass. Troy Murphy and Adonal Foyle, created at least five extra opportunities for the Warriors and they capitalized each time.

The only bright spot was Kwame Brown. He played more aggressive in this game and did a better job to fight for position.

I'm not going to be too overly worried about this. Sure, the loss was ugly, but a lot of people are still trying to adjust to the system. Currently, the only person in the starting lineup that has experience running the triangle is Kobe, and he's not going to be the one that has the ball in his hands everytime down the court. This team still has a lot of learning to do before the preseason is over, which is why I'm thankful that it is indeed just the preseason. This was just a game where they have to fight over the lumps of learning the system, and hopefully it'll look better next time out.

I'm annoyed right now. Hopefully this was just a lapse and a poor performance that happens to everyone every now and then. Kobe's foul trouble had to contribute to the end result.

Actually, Lamar Odom getting two quick fouls in the game disrupted everything the Lakers wanted to do last night. After he went to the bench Kobe Bryant tried to initiate the offense, but everyone was out of sync.
