i dont know doesn't seem like a good idea. i mean amare has better dunks and even with nash helping they weren't that good. power dunkers don't do that well in the comp.

As long as he doesn't embarrass himself, let him do it and let him have some fun. It's really only about having some fun, I don't think it's so much about winning it. When participating and showing some good dunks, he can only win in terms of increasing his popularity.

Besides, I think he mentioned this after he had some fun with reporters during training camp. He jumped and barely kissed the rim, so he joked that he's the only one who can do a kiss dunk and he's going to show it at the dunk contest. I believe it was something along those lines. So maybe it was only some joking with the reporters, who knows.

As long as he doesnt pull a chris anderson he will be fine. I lost all respect for that man after what 7 attempts. Dwight can be like amare was last year in the contest. Any national exposure is good for dwight.

he's got no chance if Josh Smith comes back or VC comes back which is still a possibility, it'll cool to watch him htough because power dunkers aren't seen very much these days.

If Dwight Howard does participate in the dunk contest, I honestly dont believe he will be on top. But props to him he is one of the few players that actually "Want" to participate in that.

I think he'll be another Amare dunk contest wise, have a sub-par performance the first time then a couple years later just amaze them.

What happened to Andersen in the dunk contest? I never saw it and I didn't hear what dunk he was trying or what happened. I just heard he missed aload of dunks. If someone has a clip or a link to it that would be great. And someone please explain what happened.

Was it a hard dunk? What kind of dunk was it?

I actually started laughing when I read this. [IMG]

I think it is cool that he is entering and I hope he pulls off something amazing so he can get some recognition from the media.

They are going to have to invite him to the dunk contest, he can't just enter.

Yea what B-22 said. I dont think he'll get an invite considering Andre Iguodala didnt get one and look at Iggy, he facials someone like every 20 minutes.

Dwight wouldn't do well in the contest, tall guys don't really have the finese to do through the legs and windmills.
