    Considering our cap situation, yes...

No, Garnett is way too good. I wouldn't give up that talent in a million years.

And my answer is yes. Bdiddy and Garnett?[IMG]

Plus the original poster didnt include J-Rich in the deal either. Though, a more realistic deal would be J-Rich, Murphy, one of Diogu or Biedrins, and a filler plus a few picks for KG and a filler or two.

I think you guys are way too high on Garnett, I wouldn't trade all those guys for him. If he goes down, the Warriors are toast. If one of those guys goes down, atleast the W's still have a shot. Garnett is getting old anyways.

yea, but even if we gave up jrich and murphy + biedrins, we would still have a line up like

    Baron Davis
    Pietrus
    Dunleavy
    Garnett
    Foyle

that would be a contending lineup, have awesome defense, only downside is that our bench would be sort of weak, led by rookies like ike and monta

Here is the thing with Garnett or any superstars for our young players.

Luxury tax line for this year: 62 mils.

    Average salary for our players

    Davis: 15 mils
    Richardson: 12 mils
    (Dunleavy: 8 mils)
    Murphy: 10 mils
    Foyle: 8 mils
    Fisher: 6 mils

    Total: 59 mils

If we include Dunleavy's deal, our 6 players combined salaries are 59 mils for at least next 4 years. Unless there is a dramatic change in cap/luxury tax or Cohan turns into Cuban, it's basically impossible to add another long contract in our current situation, meaning we will lose a lot of talents when their rookie contracts end. I am not a big fan of trading number of bright young talents for established talent, but in this case, that may be the best solution for our case...

The original idea with Pietrus,Biedrens,Diogu and ? is a problem in that we give 3 economy rookie deals to get a star with a huge contract-won't fly. Generally giving young, underrated rising talent for a veteran star is pretty risky. i think we'd need to send fisher to make the cap issues work, and I'd still want to keep at least ONE of these recent rd 1 guys-would add our 06 #1 instead.

Unless Minny is letting KG go cheap,I don't see a likely deal that works for us

I wish the Warriors waived Fisher/Foyle and resigned them for cheap, then get Dunleavy for cheap. Then we'd have a lot more space to keep the other players.

I dont think that would help at all (I doubt its even allowed). I believe the players contract still counts toward the salary cap after a team cuts them.

Hehe, if we waive them and resign them, we have to eat their old contracts + new contracts, not to mention their old contracts still count to caproom...

AnimeFanatic is a new fan to basketball, so it's good that the veteran bball fans are helping out by being patient and explaining how the outside rules work. I used to be the same way starting out. I mean I knew basketball but the salary issues were new to me.

That would be pretty lame though to be on a basketball team that could give players the money they want, then waive them and sign them for cheap so they could beat the cap. Thankfully, it doesn't work that way or New York would dominate everyone.

Unfortunately thats not the case for baseball and/or the Yankees. Im not even a fan of baseball and their ability to break the bank for anyone pisses me off!
