Dam, I'm going to miss Houston. He was a great player for us, when he was healthy. I still remember that .8 secs against Miami shot and last year when he forced the overtime against the mavs. I really appreciate what he's done. But he is a big part of NY's salary hell. I hope he does agree to the buyout to save Dolan alot of money. Do you guys think the Knicks will retire his number?
Houston was 4th all time in scoring points in Knicks history, why not. Starks and LJ weren't even full time Knicks, if there was a playoff hall of fame, yes, but Houston played most of his career and prime in New York and was one of the best shooting guards we ever had. Definately a historical shooter.

I just jumped over here from the other Allan Houston thread, and to see that kind of Houston-bashing, just because of a deal he signed, just makes me wonder who's been watching the Knicks for the last eight years. This man signed a deal that any living human being would have agreed to, got what he earned, played like he earned it for the majority of the duration of his career, and that's the only thing you're holding against him? This man was legendary for the shots he took, made, and created with his ability. I know people call Reggie Miller a Knick killer, but in Houston's prime, he was an everybody killer in the clutch. He just made some perimeter defenses look bad. And with all that ability, he helped the Knicks reach heights they had no right reaching in the playoffs, for years. The least a Knick fan could do is respect him, now that he's done. If I were the Knicks, I'd be retiring this man's jersey, because their isn't a player on this team fit to wear the number he sported for so long. I know his numbers didn't live up to the what the team wanted when they offered him that deal, but that was out of his hands, and when he was on the floor, he earned his pay. I hope he enjoys the next phase of his life, and I hope Knicks fans appreciate what they're losing, because us C's fans sure do, somebody that made us fear playing a close game in the fourth quarter, every single time we played him.
retire his number NY, he deserves it. Coming from a die hard Heat fan a team that he killed over the years with some huge shots, I think he is possibly a top 5 shooter of all time. Not stats wise, but watching him shoot is amazing.
