Is there enough touches and balls to spread around on the Nets for Carter, Kidd, and Jefferson? Personally, i don't think so. Carter and Jefferson are going to be whining for Kidd's attention. They are both going to want the ball in clutch situations and Kidd is going to get stuck right in the middle. It is not fair to one of the best point guards in the NBA (maybe the best). I hope that this doesn't become a big problem because the Nets could be a really strong team in the East and be force to be reckoned with if Carter, Jefferson, and Kidd don't let their HUGE EGO'S get the best of them on the court and in the clubhouse.
This is a pretty legit question. Add to the big three the fact that Antoine Wright probably didn't leave school early to get two shots per game. Kidd has always been a remarkable distributor, but this season is going to be trying for him. I wonder if Lawrence Frank has enough presence to be able to keep a lid on Carter when he eventually starts getting upset...
I think this is a legit worry, but I do think there will be enough for everyone. I think Kidd will be more then willing to give up his shots for Carter, Jefferson, and maybe even Wright, so they can get theirs. With JKidd running the offense, I really think this is a lesser worry then what it is being made out to be.
I don't think Wright will get a lot of touches or minutes for that matter, until he's matured and learned the game. I can honestly say that if another one guard was running the show, they'd have trouble with getting enough touches. But, with Kidd at the point, I don't see a problem. For one, Jefferson doesn't command the ball like Carter, as he can still flourish as the 3rd option on a team (Even though it was well aware to us from last year that he has the ablility to step up if he needs to). Two, Kidd's the best in the league in distributing the ball, and arguably the best ball distributor of all time behind maybe Stockton. He understands well who needs the ball and when they need it. Jackson and Krstic will get their fair share of touches as well.
Yes it is a legit concern, but I think it will work its self out. First off giftedvisionz hit it right on the head Antoine Wright wont be playing much this year....during the preseason and training camp alot of weakness have been exposed in his game. And the things that seem to have been a strenght of his in college mainly shooting have not yet transferred over to the league level. Zoran Planinic probably will now get an opportunity to get those minutes that once were expected to go to Wright. As far as Jefferson and Carter is concerned their will be ways to keep both happy. Coach Franks can assort the rotation during the middle segments of the game, giving them both segments of the game where the other isnt on the floor. And play say, Carter alongside Murray, so Carter is the creater and main guy for a short time...and then he can put Jefferson on the floor with Planinic as his partner on the wing. And RJ is the main guy in that situation as well. And when Jefferson and Carter are on the floor at the same time, mainly at the start and end of games, they can both be kept happy by Kidd because Jefferson is the more open court option for Jason. Carter doesnt run as hard as Jefferson on the break, so RJ are going to get alot of his touches in the open court. Also Jefferson for a small forward has the nack for hanging around the hoop, so he will get garbage touches and baskets. And when the game slows down Jason knows the offsense flows thru Carter. So I expect the opencourt to be dominated alot by Jeffersons ablity to run the floor. And the halfcourt to be dominated by Carter's ablity to create....so the touches for both will come in one form or another.
i think in clutch times, it should goto the vet, Vince Carter. He has proven many times he's a clutch player, and plus, he's the all-star (this wouldnt matter if RJ makes the AST this year). Besides, VC is a superior shooter, and I think RJ probably doesnt mind letting VC shoot the clutch shot.

It wasnt a problem last season and I dont expect it to be a problem this season...when you have a PG in Kidd who is always looking to pass first and get his teammates involved, its much more easier...I think all three players are unselfish players who have the team's best interests at heart, so there should be no ballhogging or whining about shots, especially in coach Frank's system of discipline and unselfishness...
I don't think it's the big a concern. Kidd isn't a scorer, he doesn't need the ball in his hands, and while I'm not sure about Jefferson, Carter can play very well off the ball and catching and shooting. The team really only has 2 scorers, Kidd isn't really a scorer, and neither Kristic or Marc Jackson should be a problem. Jefferson doesn't need to be a playmaker, and Carter doesn't need to either unless the coach wants him to be, so it should workout well for the team. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">haha you saying vc cant run the break? remember his first few seasons in the nba? its jus that some of the coaches didnt encourage running and played a half court game, like kevin o'niel for example</div> No, he's saying he doesn't run hard on the break, and while it is a little true that Kevin O'neil made every Raptor who played in 03-04 become like this, Jefferson sprints down full speed, while Carter does a 3/4 speed sprint on the break.

I said Jefferson is better at running the floor then VC....Jefferson is great at running the floor at angles that create passing lanes for Kidd. But I never said Carter cant run on the break.

huh? What do you mean HUGE EGOS? RJ is one of the humblest stars in the game and a team player. Vince Carter is understandably proud of his talents but I wouldn't put him on the Ego shortlist. By the way here is the Ego shortlist: Shaquille O'Neal Kobe Bryant Steve Francis Allen Iverson Alonzo Mourning
As we saw in the Sixers game, there was enough touches for the trio. If it keeps up like in all the games then there won't be much problem.

Did you notice how he sacrificed his game for the sake of Wade and the team..he could've easily averaged 8 ppg better than what he did.

Personally if he averaged 8 pts more, wouldn't it be better. The guy can't really be stopped, and that would be an extra 8 points on the scoreboard.

Shaq is a popular guy in the NBA and he doesn't worry about petty stuff as long as his team wins. I'd call it a 'sociable ego' because honestly, who's going to talk back to him and tell him to shove it?
Do you mean players as of now. Years ago I have seen players like Barkley and Olden Polynice get in his face.
Yea Olden Polynice pushed him and got in his face. Also while David Robinson was in front of Shaq, Shaq elbowed him in the back, Robinson responded by hitting him across the chest with his arm and saying "what's your problem?"
