ContraCosta Times SACRAMENTO -- Heading for the team bus, Warriors third-year swingman Mickael Pietrus walked across the court of Arco Arena at a pace that would land the tortoise a speeding ticket. "My body is broken. I am so tired," said Pietrus, who in Sunday's loss to the Sacramento Kings had eight points in 22 minutes and a busted lip from a flagrant foul by guard Bonzi Wells. "I have to find a way to get some rest and get healthy." Pietrus is coming off the European Basketball Championships in Serbia-Montenegro, where he helped lead the French national team to the bronze medal. He arrived in Oakland from abroad Oct. 2 and flew to Hawaii for training camp Oct. 3. He sat out just the first practice in Hawaii (right quadriceps contusion). He labored through two-a-days and, with guard Jason Richardson away from the team for personal reasons, played heavy minutes in the exhibitions. He said San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker, Pietrus' French teammate, also acknowledged he was tired. Even more demoralizing for Pietrus is the Warriors schedule, which is going to get even more hectic. He doesn't see a break coming. But Pietrus is convinced he'll be fine, especially if he's called upon for the fourth-quarter minutes over which he's been pining. All he needs is some R&R. "I know I'm not going to get it," Pietrus said through a huge smile. "I wish, but I know I'm not. "I'll be ready. I have to find some place to (get a) massage, get my rest, sleep a little bit, and I'll be all right." Pietrus got a break. The Warriors canceled practice Monday. Source
Stop whining man. You didn't have to play in the European Championships, that was your decision and you are a professional athlete so you should be able to handle this. Stop crying and play.
^Can someone just shut him up please. This guy bballer768484 is so annoying. Please all he does is diss on the Warriors

Biedrins could have gone home and probably played for his country, but he chose to use this summer to get ready for the season. Pietrus is getting what he's hoped for, so the fact that he's tired, bugs me a bit. I want him to be a great player, but he's been talking out of both sides of his a$$. He needs to shut up and play. Talk to the coach about your tired issue, not the papers.
That guy is actually somewhat right. I'm sure Pietrus is tired and banged up but he did get himself into this situation by playing for his country. It's honorable what Pietrus sacrificed but he did get himself into this predicament. There's not much of a point mentioning he's tired to the press. Too lash at Pietrus is silly. He even said in his quote he will continue to work hard. What's the big deal then? He says he's tired so he's a whiney player/cancer? He's a kid who simply doesn't know when to say the right thing. He's one of the hardest working W's on this team. When Baron first got here he mentioned that Pietrus has a good chance to be a very good player with all the hard work he puts in. I've personally watched Pietrus work hard before games. Working with Keith Smart for an hour before tip-off with drill after drill. He's just a kid who needs to be lead.
He says he's tired but will still try hard and try to find some rest. People are taking it the wrong way.

You can criticize Pietrus' decision to play for his country (or at least the country that gave him a better life) and criticize the fact he was brutally honest that he was feeling the effects of all year long basketball like Pau Gasol, Yao Ming, Steve Parker and other international ballers, but not like that. I can only hold back the crowd for so long with your type of comments (even though they aren't really violating any policy, it just seems displeasing). Just try to be more productive and a little more mature and think about what you say and the way you present it. If you have trouble with it, this just might not be the place to get out your thoughts. There is an audience here and you have to be aware of how you say things.
"You can criticize Pietrus' decision to play for his country (or at least the country that gave him a better life) " uhh... which is the country that gave him a better life? The U.S. gave him the money but France is a pretty comfortable place to live last time I checked. Granted he's lucky he gets to play for the Warriors so he lives in a cool area but still, it's not like he escaped from a 3rd world country.

Dunleavy and Monta have been playing well,Zarko really needs a stretch of minutes to get in synch-so Pietrus maybe can get a light week, which probably will be the best for everyone. The W's don't need to run him into shape,he needs a little time without getting burned out and banged around. We know his game is fearless and high risk, nobody taks more cheap shots and bounces back,so I don't see him as a whiner at all. He was just an honest man and that's alright.
MP is just not as media savvy as others to keep these things to himself. But still i have to admit i was a little disappointed he said this because he had just gotten finished talking about playing 4th quarter minutes. He needs to keep his head down and focus on getting better. Disappointing pre-season to me. Dun seems a lot more ready to take the next step.
