    <u>Kobe Bryant

    Starter

We know. Three rings. A perennial MVP candidate. But let's not forget that he chased off the game's best center to Miami with his desire to prove he was the engine behind the Lakers' most recent championship run. Let's not forget that Bryant also helped chase off a coach with nine title rings, earning an eye-raising amount of scorn in Phil Jackson's book following his last season as the Lakers' coach. Let's not forget that the clear-out-for-Kobe offense the Lakers ran at the beginning of last season was so ineffective that Bryant himself requested the team revert back to Jackson's triangle approach. Kobe missed the playoffs for the first time in his career last spring, but it appears he remembers enough to have not objected to Jackson's return to the bench. </div>

Another piece of crap written about Kobe. When will these <strike>biatches</strike> ever stop?

    <u>Kwame Brown

    Bench

Chewed up and spit out by the Michael Jordan/Doug Collins reign of terror in Washington, Brown has never displayed the effort expected of a No. 1 overall draft pick (which he was in 2001). His inconsistency didn't improve post-Jordan, infuriating new teammates to such heights that they regularly denied passing him the ball. Brown stamped his ticket out of D.C. (and eventually to the Lakers) when he skipped practice during the first round of the playoffs last spring, an absence Brown later said was because he feared he would have "slapped the s--- out of" former teammate Gilbert Arenas, who had made a habit of ignoring Brown on the floor. </div>

The same goes for Kwame Brown. I say we find out who wrote this and disregard anything he ever writes again.

Kobes good...but he IS selfish like hell. He needs to learn how to make his teammates better THEN he'll get respect from writers and other people. If anyone tries to say that Kobe ISN'T selfish then they're just lying to themselves. I've watched the Lakers consistently for years (and other basketball of course) and he hasn't changed his attitude at all...

How can Kobe be "selfish like hell" and still lead his team in assists? Kobe did last year, with six assists on average. If that's not forgoing shot attempts and setting up teammates to score, then somebody tell me the new definition for "assist." He seems, however, hungry for personal glory, I'll admit to that.

FYI, the guy who roasted Kobe in that SI article was Paul Forrester.

Kobe handles the ball more than anyone on the team. Its inevitable.

I like Kobe but I do believe he is selfish. He can carry this team on his back as he does at times but if he is unable to make his teamates better as Jordan did, I don't see him winning another title.

Everyone underestimates Kobe and Kwame, but when they start doing good and winning games this will all go away.

Yep, close your eyes, stick your fingers in your ears and yell until criticism of the Lakers stops. That's the way of the fans.

Kobe is selfish and Kwame has a shocking reputation from his time in Washington. If you don't want to face facts that's your choice, but it's up to both players to shed the tags (fairly) put on them.

Just because he leads the team in assists, doesn't mean he is not selfish. He always has the ball in his hands, so like Rudeezy said, assists are inevitable. It's the same reason McInnis was pissed at Lebron last year for being selfish. Sure Lebron avgd. 7 assists, but it's becuase he always had the ball in his hands, and that can piss a lot of point guards off when off-guards do that (aka jeff and chucky). They did try the "give Kobe the ball and let him work" method last year and look how that turned out. Kobe is selfish, and that's a tag he has to shed.

The knock on Kwame was just deserved. He needs to prove himself after the whole washington fiasco.

    Amen.
