Now that Eddie has a couple games under his belt how do you guys like the new look Knicks? He has posted points in the teens and has put up decent numbers in the limited minutes.

I know that some were upset about the loss of Sweetny but is Eddie begining to grow on you guys?

With his preseason stat line looking like this

    FTM-A: 14-18

    FG%: .66

    FT%: .77

    RPG: 4

    PPG: 12.7

    MPG: 12

It looks like a posative situation so far. But I really wana know if you guys are liking what you've seen so far.

I don't know if there's anyway to accurately answer that question. Eddy came to camp rusty and out of shape. Obviously we wanted the Curry from last year. Plus, it's only preseason. Come back with that question a couple of months from now. [IMG]

I agreed with MrJ Curry is out of shape right now. but I like what he has done in limited minutes so I think he will become a Great Factor for us If he get's in shape.

The jury is still out on Curry, but I hope he can be a more stable, team player for us than the Bulls

We won't know until December.. maybe January who got the better of this trade. It's still a new team and new system not just for Curry but for everyone on the Knicks.

We also have to remember he got his points and rebounds within 30 minutes of play... mostly due to foul trouble.

I'm hoping working with Brown and Aguirre will help fix that problem. And if he does there's no reason to think he can't improve on his numbers from last season.

Larry Brown said that he was going to make the team revolve around Curry. he was a little rusty in the beginning, but he tried to make adjustments during the season. he could be just like Shaq, but not as powerful as him. he is a good player and the knicks need a stable center.

First and foremost, I’m very disappointed with the loss of our draft pick this year. With all the heart issues Curry was having, we gave the Bulls way too much compensation for him. How can the Hawks get Joe Johnson with protected draft picks, and we get Curry for unprotected picks? Granted, this draft doesn’t look strong, however we need all the help we can get.

As for Curry, although disappointed, Knick fans are willing to give him one more chance because of the issues this year. By no fault of his own, he started training camp out of shape and rusty, because the last time he played basketball was about six months before training camp. The starting lineups that he had to play with were ridiculous. He started every game when he was healthy, but adjusting to the other four players 44 times is probably confusing for him.

He’s also just 23 years old leaving Chicago for the first time and playing in the hardest city to play in. I wouldn’t expect him to adjust overnight. With that said, Curry is still going to have to man up and step to the plate. He’s going to need to show some consistency. There times when Curry shows promise and there other times when he looks like he doesn’t want to play. It just baffles me how Curry, 6’11”, 285 pounds can have some games where he only has three rebounds. For someone who’s so mobile at his size, Curry shouldn’t be as bad a defender as he is. That just seems to be a lack of effort on his part.

Next year will be a critical year for Curry. No more excuses can be made for him. He said he’s going to be in the summer league and is going to work out with Mark Aguirre all summer. At least he’s saying the right thing, but as the old adage goes, actions speak louder than words.

how can you say that? First and foremost Eddy doesnt play any defense..shaq dwarfs him in defensive ability. Second, Eddy Curry has no where near the court vision of shaq..the ability to pass out of the double and triple teams. Third, even if he did have the court vision he still wouldnt pass..he's like a blackhole on offense, stuff goes towards him but never from. And finally...how can he be just like Shaq when there are point guards in this league averaging more rebounds than him?

Eddy curry is a marvellous offensive talent and he's young enough to turn around his game for the better. But in order to do that he'll have to start defending, loose his blackhole attitude and start looking to pass, and above all else in my opinion...BOX OUT YOUR MAN AND HIT THE BOARDS. No reason a guy his size shouldnt be averaging at least 8 boards at game..minumum.

Curry pretty much did everything I expected him to this past season. He was out of shape. He played absolutely no defense. He didnt block any shots, didnt rebound the ball and let mediocre big men look like All Stars. He didnt pass the ball. He was inconsistent. He couldnt be on the floor during crunch time. He was also outplayed by Jackie Butler at times. And he turned the ball over way too much. It wasnt all bad though. I must say I was pleasantly surprised to see he got a whole six rebounds this season. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'll take anyone of the top ten guys in this draft over Curry any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I never wanted the trade to happen. Curry is and will always be a big sloppy chump and he showed it this season. Next season he will leave no doubt that's all he'll ever be. Golden State needs a low post scorer. Anyone think we can ship him there for their pick for this draft and their 2007 pick?

Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.

I have to agree with what you said, but I also like Mr Js attitude.

Curry has the potential, but hasn't showed it. He is out of shape, lazy, and for a guy his size, is a decent rebounder at best. (6 boards in 26 mpg...at his size with his athleticism, he should be a good boarder and defensive presence.)

I will wait to pass judgement on his until next season. If he works out and the Knicks can get a solid situation next season, then I will determine.

I think giving up on him now would be best for the team. He slows down tempo ways to much, and disrupts the flow of the game for the other scorers. The team should play more small ball, as this roster seems fairly young and athletic. The only problem is they wouldn't be able to run if they wouldn't be willing to play defense.
