So far what do you guys think of our three rookies (CV31, jose, Graham) IMO: i am really impressed with CV31. He is getting along fine with CB4 and is proving the doubters wrong as for Jose: I love this guy's game..he is an amazing guy and was a great pick-up
CV31 has surprized me so far, he has been scoring well game in game out, and if he can improve his rebounding some, he could be starting in a year. I really have to watch Jose in live action, I've heard games where he was excellent, and games where he wasn't, but at this point it seems like he was an excellent pick up. Joey Graham, when he was healthy at the start it sounded like he was playing well. I think he will very helpful, but we should definitely let him heal and not make anything worse. I'll love to have a guy who can play defense, Toronto has needed that for a while.
overall i think all three have shown something good for Toronto and let's see what they can do during the regular season!
i don't want to put cold water on you guys... yeah...charlie surprised me so far, and sure looks better than the Brazilian meat on the court...however, his defence and rebounding is still a concern i suppose he can improve...well he better..otherwise he might become the slimmer version of Antoine Airball Walker Bad FT, stays in perimeter too much, bad defence...all about offence hopefully mitchell can adjust that before it's too late While you guys rave about charlie...why not look at Danny Granger who a lot of people thought toronto would pick 7th. on the same night charlie won the game vs the nets and make stupid murray eat his dumb words, danny put up 19 pts, 15 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks i feel that sam mitchell likes danny's style of play than charlie's (since he always stress on hustle and rebounds because toronto is not much better than NCAA teams in inside game right now) but...oh well...at least charlie is not another white bateer in araujo supposedly that's an improvement
I like our rookies. I still think that Granger should have been picked instead of Graham but I can handle that. Charlie looks amazing on the offensive end. He just needs to bang more inside and get some more rebounds. Defence is a little off but that will come with time. He needs to get adjusted. Calderone IMO is going to be the key to the Raptors season. Even though we had a solid point guard in Rafer Alston, Calderone truly has a pass first mentality. He lets the game come to him and I think that is definitely important on setting the tone for the offence. If he can bring that attitude and mentality to Raptors we will do better than last season. Don't get me wrong, we'll suck. But I see potential in this club. That is better than nothing at all.

Granger coming out of college was the better scorer, shooter, passer, ball handler, rebounder, said to be the better defender, and is a much better shot blocker and pick pocket. Granger also had a nice impressive game for Indy with I think a double double, and 2 blocks/steals. The knee problems was why we didn't get him, but Joey got tendinitis from just training camp. Anyways, Charlie has been very impressive, even if it's against lesser comp. My predictions for him were about 10-11 PPG, 6-7 RPG and about 1 BPG in 26-27 MPG or so, but he's basically re-inforced my thoughts of him being more of a perimter guy, so I can see the same PPG, but about 5-6 RPG, but maybe more blocks. I think the idea of him playing center should be gone now, especially defensively, where he still needs work at any of his positions. He doesn't really like to put a body on his man defensively, but on offense, his post moves are very nice, he has a better post game than Bosh, and is a much more fluid offensive player. Calderon going off the pick and roll, and instead of shooting, passing the ball down to Loren Woods was great, because I know so many PG's would've taken that shot. It also helped that Loren Woods finished those, because if he didn't, it would make Jose look bad. I love Calderon's pass first mentality, and he's also able to hit shots to keep the defense honest. He can definately be big for the team this year, even though I don't see much winning aspirations, he's a nice guy to have for now and the future.
