Well, that's from the same incident in Chicago, where a man named Marktwain has told police that the gunman who shot him was part of Tony Allen's entourage. Apparently, Allen got into an verbal altercation with the victim in the same night of the shooting.

Allen claims that he does not know the shooter, and that the two incidents are unrelated. Whether that's true or not...who knows?

We don't even know why he was brought in. All we do know is that this doesn't look good for Allen and the Celtics.

Can't say as though we didn't see this one coming. It's unfortunate that he should get wrapped up in this nonsense, but any young. rich, black male in a situation such as this one needs to watch his back. Remember, innocence is no defense, it's all in what you can prove.

On another note, his loss may very well affect the C's in ways we don't yet see. He is a versatile player with a lot to gain in this league, and I think his presence has made a lot of difference on the bench as well as the floor. Hopefully, this is a temporary setback, and we can see him back soon.

Sorry for the double-post, but it seems he's been formally charged now, with aggravated battery. Apparently the DA would like to see him convicted of a felony over the fight he had with this Marktwain character. Can you believe that trash? Forget who shot him, the small fry in this episode apparently, let's nail the famous dude for getting into a fight with him. Sounds like somebody would just like the accolades that go with nailing a famous person, and he isn't even all that famous. All in all, this is pretty ridiculous, and while it has been said time and again that he was in that fight, not that he allegedly was in a fight, which is already prejudicial, I bid them good luck in finding twelve sympathetic jurors and making this one stick.

They should both be charged if this is true. Tony Allen should not get off free for the lesser of two crimes, but they both need to be dealt with.

"Tony Allen might be the first NBA player to allow someone else to take one of his shots." -- Chris Bernucca

    Ouch.
