Defenders galore.Team got: Zarko Cabarkapa, still playing like a rookie at age 25.Job evaluation: Mullin is betting the mortgage that Baron Davis is the second coming of Michael Jordan and just might wind up homeless.Grade: F I swear, it's really seeming like Rosen has something personal against the Warriors.
There are two ways to get noticed in journalism, especially sports journalism. Be extraordinarly brilliant by being insightful and original or being just plain controversial and devoid of fact. Guess which outnumbers who. The only bay area sports journalist that covers basketball that I like is Janny Hu. She writes the stories, not the editorial opinion.
Beside obvious idiocy, this is actually a very funny list. `So according to him, Boston who LOST talents got B+, and only reason they didn't get A is because they didn't lose Pierce. `At the same time, Cavs, who added number of talents, got C+ and Miami got B- `Detroit got A- for blockbuster signings like Dale Davis and Maurice Evans, while losing Larry Brown, who happen to lead them to NBA Final twice. But teams like Houston, who added Swift and Alston got whopping D, because those young kids are supposely be a punk. Talk about a bitter, bitter man...
Part of me welcomes articles like that. I'm always wary of hype surrounding this team. Things have gone wrong so often in the last 11 years that I'd rather fly under the radar for a little while. Articles like this make me think, "good, there's someone who still doesn't like the Warriors. This is a guy who is going to have to either admit that he was wrong or look increasingly more stupid for bashing the Warriors."
Rosen has come out with 2 idiotic sounding articles. But you know what? The Warriors deserve no respect until around the All Star break if we have a winning record. Until at least then no one should be complaining because if something happens to Jrich or Baron Davis we will be nothing. Until we show we can win meaningful games, we really deserve no respect...
Don't be such Fans. I like that he's opinionated. I only agree with about a third of what he says. Calling Sarunas an infinitely less talented version of Reggie Miller - the guy is considered to be a great point guard, I don't think he's "infinitely less" talented than anyone. And then he gives an A to Portland's GM for signing Nate McMillan. He forgets to mention that he paid THROUGH THE NOSE to get Nate - that is not what I'd want my GM to do.
He is an idiot, he starts out by saying he won't include rookies, yet in the Bucks analysis Bogut is mentioned in the first sentence. He also said Lorenzen Wright was an addition, but hasn't he been on the griz for years now. He also neglected to mention Bonzi on the kings which was a pretty big addition, and regarding the W's our addition was Z but we got him last year.
I would not ask Rosen's opinion on basketball. I might ask Ruby. She's pretty smart for a Border Collie.
He won't include rookies in the equation, yet he blasts teams for not solving issues at one position or another, because they filled those positions WITH ROOKIES! This article is hilarious.
He loves Duncan and Pop. See how everything he said they need they had already picked up? If he had stated what they needed at the beginning of the summer, then finished writing this I'd give him more credibility, but he's been doing this for a while now, and all we can hope is that he'll retire one day. If I were a Warriors fan I wouldn't take it personal, seeing as how you guys have 2 big time dunkers, and entertaining ball players, it's almost expected of Mr. Rosen to hate you. This is the same guy who said last season that, if given the touches, Maurice Taylor could lead the league in scoring and win a few scoring titles. I just got done reading how he's a monster point maker, when, last time I checked, which was 2 minutes ago, he averaged 7 ppg.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Air Pietrus:</div><div class="quote_post">Idiot. Zarko wasn't even found in the offseason LMAO!</div> exactly what i was gonna say. i agree with what was said earlier, i'm kind of glad that not EVERYONE is predicting the warriors to be a great team this year. any longtime warrior fan can remember much dissapointment in the past 11 years, and i don't want to have to deal with that again. i'd rather expect mediocrity and then have them play great, than the other way around...
