<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The dress code, which goes into effect at the start of the regular season, mandates business casual attire for all team and league appearances. That means dress pants, khakis or dress jeans, shirts with collars and dress shoes or boots and socks. Furthermore, players not in uniform but sitting on the bench or in the stands are required to wear a sports coat. Outlawed are sneakers, sleeveless shirts, T-shirts and sneakers, sandals and work boots. Allen Iverson, who tends to favor retro jerseys and diamond-encrusted jewelry along with baggy jeans and sneakers, isn?t a fan of the new rules. "I don?t want to be a problem with this whole situation and I don?t want people just trying to focus on how I?m gonna react to it and whether I?ll abide by it," Iverson said Wednesday after practice. "I don?t want to be the whole focus in this thing. Like I said, I just think it?s wrong and I think it?s unfair. And actually I don?t think it?s good for the league. I really don?t, because it kind of makes it fake. The whole thing is fake. "You?ve got all these guys with these personalities and different games. Tracy McGrady is different from Kobe, Kevin Garnett is different from Tim Duncan, and I?m different from those guys. That?s what makes the league what it is. Everybody has their own personality, everybody has their own style. I just think it?s unfair when you take that away from people." Iverson certainly isn?t alone in this. John Salmons, as quiet as any player in the NBA, said he wasn?t thrilled by the new rules. "I don?t agree with it either," Salmons said. "What if somebody told a person who usually dresses up in slacks, shirt, and tells them every day they have to come in in jeans, sneakers and a T-shirt? They?d say, ?Why? I don?t dress that way.? I think it?s just another way to try to knock down the hip-hop era, I think." </div> link:http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=..._id=81422&rfi=6 this is old news, and im pretty sure everyone already knows. the thing that surprises me is that salmons isnt happy either. i never knew that he was with the whole "hip hop" trend.
i just made a thread in nba basketball. come vote here: http://www.justbball.com/forums/showthread...3792#post533792
There is already a thread about the dress code, http://www.justbball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43961
This is a little late, AI has softened his stance on the dress code, saying that he doesn't agree with it, but he doesn't want to get suspended or give away his money because of it.
There are one too many of these dress code threads and in fact there is one already here in the Sixers forum. If you want to continue that discussion, just simply revive it or go to the over on the NBA Basketball forum. <font color=""Red"">Locked</font>
