I have some questions. I do the Yahoo! Fantasy NBA, public league. 1.) Is fantasy all about total accumlated stats? If I have a star player starting when there's a day that he has NO game, but a bench player playing a game, should I swap them spots, so the bench player gets the game, hence records stats, or does this all go by average? 2.) Is there some sort of formula that tells me which stat is most important and so forth?
Reading the rules helps, but here goes.. 1) Depends, if you're doing a Rostierre league, do not swap because you only probably get 82 games, so a player plays 82 games unless they get injured, keep an eye on games played throughout the season. 2) Um, there's no formula, all are pretty equal, head on head if you win the category you get a point, rostierre it's like i don't know, just try to rack it up and you're ranked. if you're killing ppl in points in the middle of the season and you need help in rebounds, then you might trade a scorer for a rebounder and stuff.. hope that helps, i'm really bad at explaining stuff..good luck man!

And I don't think I understand #1 - It is Rostierre.
no it's not the end of the night, end of the season. okay um just put your best lineup out and leave it unless your bench players r doing awesome than tinker with your lineup and if a player gets injured just bench him and put someone else in. don't worry, you'll learn as you go, i had to learn the hard way..
for head-to-head the mathes to get points are done in weeks, the winner of the match-up will get a point for rotisserie, the team with best overall stats over the year will win... not sure how you get those points though.... anyways I recommend that you swap players around for rotisserrie and head-to-head more stats, can't be a bad thing and shows that you are an active person so people will either offer more trades/or invite you to join their own league (which is normally a lot more active than those small ones...)

So then what if I have Kevin Garnett in my lineup (because he's better) and, say, Darko Milicic on my bench. KG doesn't have a game this night, but Darko does. Should I put Darko in for KG? Also, then how is your overall rank recorded? So what if I lead points, but not assists? Is that 1 overall point, or what?
yes if KG doesn't have a game that night but Milicic does then let Milicic play in his position for that night but swap back to KG after that if you didn't know you can go forwards in time to set your starting team up. This saves a lot of time rather than going online to set your team up everyday (personally I set my team up ahead by 1 week and set the next week up by the end of that week) for overall rank I'm not sure... i think if you lose in assists but win in points it's like -1 assists +1 points... not sure though here's a question I'd like answerred... how many stats does the UTility position rack up?
With me, I always tinker with lineups. Whether it be fantasy baseball, football, or basketball, I tinker. If a player isn't playing, I remove him and put one of my bench players in that is playing. It's all about stats, and that's the way to do it. And holyace, I think you're wrong. Rotisseries are based on accumulated stats, but it doesn't matter about games played. If you're player has a night off, sub him out and put someone else in for him. It helps you in the long run and it's pointless to keep a player in the lineup if they're not playing.
moo2k4 okay then you get screwed and you would be maxed out on games. you can play 82 (unless it's custom) games per position unless they are injured or not playing in the game then you obviously bench them, but if their team has an off night, don't sub in a worse guy. i know it's accumulative, but once you reach that 82 games, you can't accumulate anymore for that position, mess with utilities..but otherwise don't bench dirk for joe smith and get 42 games from each of them, that pf spot would have used up all the 82 games, it's not that hard of a concept.
So sue me, I've never heard of a fantasy league running like that. Last I knew, bench players were there to be utilized when one of your other players had an offnight.
holyace are you sure... I never heard of that either... is there any proof you got please? (don't mean to sound rude)
i'm not trying to sound angry as well, moo dude relax, i don't want to sue you, i'm just putting in my input. well in a default yahoo fantasy rotiserrie league this is how it works (head to head is totally a different story and if you're in a custom rost league that could have games unlimited or something for each position). i've done a bunch of these for many years, and i've seen people fall prey to playing too many games, too fast (happened to me my first year) i really don't have time to go through the rules and look up the thing, too many essays in college, but anyway, good luck to everybody. this is what i get for trying to help out and go out on a limb and be the first one to offer up an answer. excellent.. I'm Out.
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/hoops/hoopru...oprules-10.html Okay I couldn't help it, I did take time to "back it up." Okay so scroll down to Max Games per position, 82. So think about it, 82 games per team, so if say Gasol does not get injured this season why would you bench him from his PF position to play someone like Joe Smith? Utilities I usually swap to find the best combo. Injuries of course play a big role. Now I seriously am out.
