<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">OKLAHOMA CITY - The New Orleans Hornets traded center Jamaal Magloire to the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday in exchange for forward Desmond Mason, an unconditional first-round pick in the 2006 draft and cash.

Magloire, an All-Star two seasons ago, averaged 11.7 points and 7.4 rebounds in 23 games for the Hornets last season. The 6-foot-11 center missed 51 games last season with a broken right ring finger. He had expressed a desire to be traded to Toronto, his hometown.</div>

i wonder what the raps would have had to trade to get him, center is the one position really hurting the team.

This may sound crazy to some, but I'm not that big on the Magloire to the Raps theories.

I won't give up for than Mo + a pick for him, and maybe Eric Williams or one of the scrubs.

I agree, I don't get the obsession. Yes, he's a good center, but he's not anything great for how much people seem to want to give up. He'll give you about a double double, decent defense, and minimal shot blocking.

having a hometown boy is good for attendance, and good for his career. i think big cat's best years are still ahead of him. id like to see him have them in toronto...id rather have him then hoffa wouldnt you?

a good center is an important piece to the puzzle, and a hard find. plus he's a toronto boy. i think thats why people obsess

Maybe we should make an offer for Gadzuric of the Bucks? His contract is reasonable at 36 mill over 6 years. The Bucks probably won't need 3 centers.

I don't know what we could have offered the Hornets for Magloire. They would probably want us to trade picks or young talent to get him over here, which is something I would not want to do.

His contract goes up in 2 years and I think that is around the time most of our heavy contracts come off the books. Probably another reason why Babcock decided against Magloire right now.

He would have been a huge improvement at center here but by time all our young guys have developed and we're ready to contend, I'm not sure that Magloire won't be pass his prime and we'll be saddled with a large contract (when he resigns, which I'm assuming he would).

from the sounds of it, NO wanted our two first round draft picks from this past years draft for Magloire in June....

babcock didn't bite, and from the promise that we see in joey and charlieV, i wouldn't have done that trade either...

too bad NO doesn't want Ewill and woods for magloire.....if only

Agreed, I don't think it would have been worth it for those 2 first rounders. We probably wouldn't have made playoffs and our future wouldn't look as promising.

I would definitely like that Ewill + woods trade [IMG]

I would of added in the Denver First i believe that Toronto has this season so New Orleans would bite.

All three of them can also play PF, and Joe Smith is the only PF on the team, so they basically just have a 4 man rotation at PF/C.
