    it's official:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Charlotte Bobcats acquired forward Jumaine Jones on Wednesday from the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for a future second-round pick.

Jones, who averaged 7.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and shot .391 from 3-point range last season, will give Charlotte much-needed depth at small forward. Gerald Wallace is the starter and second-year player Bernard Robinson has not challenged him for playing time.

"Jumaine Jones is a versatile player who provides a different dimension to our front-court positions and will help us in many ways on both ends of the floor," coach Bernie Bickerstaff said. "He is a proven outside shooter and has shown success rebounding the ball."

Jones ranked 18th in the NBA in 3-point percentage last season, making 102 of 261 attempts. He started 23 games and scored a season-high 25 points against Orlando on Dec. 12.

Jones played college ball at Georgia and was drafted 27th overall by Atlanta in 1999. His rights were traded to Philadelphia, and Jones played in 377 games with the 76ers, Cleveland, Boston and the Lakers.

I like this trade for Charlotte. Jones is a good 3 pt. shooter, very solid defender, good rebounder, and athletic. He should help alot off the bench and help add some outside shooting.

LA does alright, they dont really need Jumaine because of their logjam at SF but I still think they could have nabbed a cheap PF/C to add to the end of their bench for added depth.

Good trade. We gain a nice well rounded player as Run BJM mentioned, and we gave up pretty much nothing.

This should be a good pickup for the Bobcats, if Jumaine can do what he does best for the Bobcats they should have themselves a dependable sixth man who makes up for Gerald Wallace's shooting ability. From what I've seen Gerald isnt the greatest shooter and well he's pretty good at everything else, Jumaine on the other hand is a nice all-around player with a good shot which should help bring offense to there bench. I dont know when May's back but if he's not back quick I think Jumaine should be the focal point of there second unit offense.

I'm not happy about this trade at all. Jumaine Jones is worth so much more. We lost another player for basically nothing.
