http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-k...ov=ap&type=lgns The New York Knicks waived guards Jamison Brewer and Steven Barber and forward Otis George on Wednesday, reducing their roster to 15. Brewer played 18 games for New York last season, averaging 1.7 points. He appeared in two exhibition games this season, scoring two points. Barber, a 5-foot-10 rookie who played at Texas-Arlington, averaged 3.3 points in four exhibition games. George, a former Louisville players, appeared in one preseason game. I thought Brewer would show more talent in the preseason because 1.7 isnt going 2 make the team. He was good last year but he didnt fit in2 the new team. Barber somewhat impressed but 3.3 isnt going 2 make it either. Barnes just made the team because of his performance. I really like Matt because of his hustle and defense. What i really like was him getting blocked twice in the paint but refusing to give up and eventually score. It shows character and determination.
I liked Jamison Brewer last season too, but he didn't show up in preseason. Barnes definitely should get the nod over all three of them. We didn't really have anyone really deserving of the roster spot like the last couple of years, though. Remeber back in 04 it was Matt Carrol, and in 05 it was Andre Barrett. Anyway, with us in talks with Portland, I think he'll be included in a deal as a filler.
All three of them were trash. Barnes is a hustla. Hesa Hesa Hustla! All jokes aside Knicks are lucking better to me every game.
Just releasing un-needed gaurds, not too big of a thing. Brewer might of made if but I didnt think that Barber and George would make it. More time for Penny and Nate as backups with all these guys of the roster.
Good cuts. I was sure Larry would cut Brewer, anyone else here notice that Mike Breen seems like a bit of a Brewer-fan? It got on my nerves during the preseason.
