This is a huge surprise to me. He seemed like a virtual lock to me. However, although I liked his game his waiver means we are likely involved in or trying to be involved in a trade for Nene. The Bulls where rumored to be trying to acquire Nene, but if they had no shot, and Davis was not returning that Holcomb would be signed. Since he was not signed it makes me wonder. We could also be interested in a free agent not a lot of good free agent big men though in the market right now.

I wouldn't read into it too much, Holcomb was playing great and i'm sure the bulls didn't want to cut him but i wouldn't assume that means a trade is in the works. They said that with antonio davis staying in new york they wanted a bigger player who could play more minutes at center, he was just the wrong position. They are gonna play the waiver wire for a bigger player, i would love nene but i don't think anything is going to happen this soon in the season.

I have no idea, but is Powell sticking around for the time being? If he's staying and Holcomb got cut, I'm a little confused.
