<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">SAN ANTONIO - Samuel Dalembert's right quadriceps strain is suddenly, painfully a strain on everyone.

When the 76ers' 101-98 preseason finale loss to the San Antonio Spurs ended, Dalembert - the starting center - was already on the team bus, way in the back, his leg up. Who knows where his thoughts were taking him?

The general plan was to avoid getting anyone hurt. Dalem-bert didn't make it through warm-ups, when he tweaked the injury that has been with him for almost 2 months and allowed him to practice just once in training camp and appear in one preseason game before last night.

His performance lasted all of 2 minutes, 12 seconds. He wanted to see whether he could go. He couldn't.

"He said he felt something in warmups, but he said he wanted to see if he could go," coach Maurice Cheeks said. "Actually, it was not good. Not a good sign. I'm hoping it's not that bad. We'll go home, see how he responds. That's the biggest thing, just hoping it's not that bad. I'm not real sure how it is. We'll wait until [today] and see.

"That was my hope, not to get anybody hurt in the game. He got hurt in warmups. You could see in the game he was kind of limping early on."</div>

    Full Story

I knew there was something wrong with him. While viewing the play-by-play of the game, I noticed how Dalembert only had played two minutes at the in of the first quarter. He had no fouls or anything and threes is no way he would get disqualified in two minutes although that’s what I was hoping. I honestly knew that wasn’t the case and knew for a fact that was an injured, and at the end of the game my speculations were right.

Cheeks said things doesn't look good, so obviously that's not good. Dalembert wasn't in much shape as it is and to have this injury set him back well hurt us and him a ton. Steven Hunter however was a complete monster last night against the Spurs. I know he won't be able to keep up with a 25 point game night, but if he can show the same tenacity and aggressiveness we should do modernly well without Dalembert for the moment. But who will come off the bench for Hunter? [IMG]

At this time, I don’t know the status of Dalembert, I’ve been to numerous websites for any sort of updates on him and I got nothing. It’s still very early so I’m guessing and update will come around 3 PM, my biggest fear is that he misses about a week because as of now I highly doubt he will play the season opener. He is just not in condition to be in the spotlight.

10-14 days. That really sucks. Korver is injured too. However his is very minor and it's nothing he any proffesional basketball player shouldn't be able to play through.

God, oh man oh man, you have to be kidding me. It sucks that this injury seems to be aggravated and that it might take a bit longer than usual to heal. At this point from this article, it looks like it might be something serious so its definitely something he should be careful of and take a bunch of tests. Even worse, we just gave him that huge contract. At this point, Hunter would probably be a sufficient starter at center, but the problem is that we really don't have a backup center. It really kills our front court as weak as it already is. Hope King signs a decent enough backup center to lessen the numbers in the loss category.

Wow....first Randolph and Bradley....and then now Dalembert?!?!?We HAD a ok frontcourt....now we no doubt have the weakest frontcourt in the league, only 1 proven player and 1 raw player, and another one that should be in the NBDL......AI and Webber are gonna have to light it up now. Our interior defense will be just as bad as last year, at least for now.

Stephen Hunter isnt that bad so I think he should put up decent numbers while Dalembert is out, but who's there backup's in the front court?

10-14 Days shouldnt be too bad, Im sure Stephen Hunter could do fine for that stretch of time but if it was something more serious they'd be in trouble, big trouble.
