    OKLAHOMA CITY -- The New Orleans Hornets waived forward George Lynch on Friday.

    Lynch averaged 3.7 points and 4.0 rebounds in 44 games in 2004-05 but didn't appear in any exhibiton games this season.

    "Coming to an agreement with George allows us to carry an extra player on the roster and allows him to pursue an opportunity with another team this season," Hornets General Manager Jeff Bower said. "We wish him the best of luck."

    The Hornets originally acquired Lynch along with Robert Traylor and Jerome Moiso from Philadelphia and Chris Porter from Golden State in a three-team trade in 2001.

    Well they really didnt need him,so its not a big loss.But best luck to him finding a team
