<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">LAS VEGAS, Oct. 28 (Ticker) -- If the Los Angeles Lakers are going to make the playoffs, Kobe Bryant is likely going to have to carry them there. He got some practice Friday.

Bryant scored 24 points and came off the bench in the fourth quarter to spark the Lakers to a 105-103 victory over the Sacramento Kings in the preseason finale for both teams.

    NBA TV highlights from
    Kings-Lakers: Play
The Lakers entered the fourth quarter with a five-point lead and stretched the advantage to seven before the Kings fought back.

Kevin Martin scored 11 points in just over two minutes and rookie Francisco Garcia hit a 3-pointer to give the Kings a 96-89 lead with 3:07 to play.

Bryant was on the bench at the start of the final period, but re-entered the game after Garcia's basket and promptly started a 10-0 run. He scored on a layup and came up with a steal that led to a bucket by Devin Green. Lamar Odom added four points in the spurt, which was capped by a bank shot in the lane by Smush Parker that made it 99-96 with 1:15 remaining.

Sacramento did not go quietly as Garcia, who scored 10 points, hit another shot from beyond the arc with 4.1 seconds remaining to pull the Kings within 104-103.

Bryant was fouled on the inbounds pass and made one of two free throws.

Out of timeouts, Sacramento only could manage a desperation 35-footer at the buzzer by Jason Hart that hit the backboard.

Odom added 19 points and Kwame Brown netted 15 for the Lakers, who open the regular season Wednesday at Denver.

Mike Bibby scored 20 points and Martin and Brad Miller contributed 15 each for the Kings, who take on the Hornets on Tuesday. </div>

It says that they played Adam Parada along with Mihm, Bryant, Brown and Odom in the starting lineup. That must be a error right? First of all, it was announced before the game that waivers on him and Tony Bobbit was requested, and why would they start him?
I guess they must have ment Smush Parker...

Nice to see them win in the way they did anyway...

They were playing great D in the second qtr. Yet, the final score they allowed over 100.

They showed flashes of fluidity and continuity on both offense and defense, but somehow the kings were still in the game.

I was happy to see Kobe kept his shot selection under control, except for a point in the 4th qtr when he threw up two horrible laysups within about 20 seconds of eachother. Besides, that he was 'just another player' in the triangle, letting his shots come to him. I'm looking forward to a great year

Smush Parker wasnt even on the Box Score it said Adam Parada like you said, thats kinda wierd. Its not as bad as the Memphis Box Scores where they have Lawrence Roberts as Lawrence Warrick.

Kwame finally had a game like I expected him too, 15 and 8 if Im not mistaken. I think Kwame is capable of averaging near that this year if he stay's healthy and gets 5-8 touches a game.

From what I saw, Sasha Vujacic had a very good game.

I didn't see the game, since I am from London, but looking at the box score, I assume that Odom was with Stojakavic. If so, he must have played great D, making one of the premier shooters in the NBA shoot 5-17. What can I say about Kobe? This dude is constantly sitting out the quarter with 20+ points, taking 12 free throws. When he's on, we're winning, we suddenly start to lose and he comes on again and turns it around. Incredible. One more thing to add, the Queens got served, LA style.

Kobe is playing well, though the box score 7-19 completely surprised me. Even so, those missed shots didn't look like they were because of forcing tough shots, but just inability to connect. He's playing within the offense and the offense is running much smoother because of it.

OH- did anyone else who watched the sports center highlights notice that the ENTIRE segment on the Lakers/Kings game was kobe highlights??? They didn't show Sacremento on offense ONCE, nor did they show any laker besides Kobe with the ball...just that was funny
