All these "player rankings" and stuff is so dumb. Everyone trying to rank everything. Woo Kevin Garrnet's Player Efficiency Rating is 28.35...Who cares.
Dirk, Amare and Kirilenko are not better than Kobe. No matter what you do and what you say Kobe is going to be the best player in the league, I dont like him, I dont hate him and It doesnt matter what he does off the court he's still the only one close to being worthy of Jordan comparisons, in the game right now.

My god! Maybe they're just trying to motivate him to have the best season of his career.
They arn't actual player rankings, they are PER. Did you guys actually think that they thought players like Chris Andersen and Bobby Jackson were better than Chris Bosh and Dwight Howard? EDIT: BTW Buckets, Kobe is NOT the best player in the league. He might be the best SG, but most definitely not the best player in the league.
^ agree, you can't say kobe is the best player in the league, i think he got severely underrated this season because of not making the playoffs and all that happened, but to say he's the best player in the league? kg, td and shaq are all better and there are cases you could make for other ppl like AI and tmac
I think it's important to keep in mind that these are how players did last season. That means that last year, Chris Andersen was better than Dwight Howard. Andersen is a very underrated player, but nobody believes that he'll still have a more productive season than Howard for the rest of his career (by all accounts, Howard is going to be GREAT this year, and for many years to come). Same with the Kobe situation - even Lakers fans could admit (I think) that he didn't have the best of years last year. So those rankings are going to reflect that. That being said, if I'm starting a team now, I'd take Garnett, Duncan, Amare, LeBron, and maybe even Kirilenko over Kobe. I think most would agree with the first four, but I throw Kirilenko in there because he has been by far the most dominant defensive player over the last couple of years, and if he stays healthy and has a solid offensive showing, he might even be MVP this year.

He said he is GOING to be the best, which, being only 26 (or 27) he has the potential to do. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting FFSBasketball:</div><div class="quote_post">That being said, if I'm starting a team now, I'd take Garnett, Duncan, Amare, LeBron, and maybe even Kirilenko over Kobe. Amare, I would only take for his potential and work ethic, but he's having problems with his elbows because of his excessive dunking. If Lebron shows he can even MAKE the playoffs I'll consider him. He doesn't play defense, and he isn't clutch, like I need my franchise player to be. Kirilenko MVP? Sure he's dominant defensively, but he's oft injured and doesn't impact ballgames like KG, AI, Shaq, etc do.
there going by efficency (its like point plus assists plus rebounds divided by fga and fgm i dont no wat it is exactly) i mean chris anderson is 45th i belive and antwan jamison is 66
Kidd at 32!!? How are Marbury, Gooden, Marshall and Magette better than him. Im a little confused. EDIT- I just realized its by efficency. Efficency doesn't always tell the whole story, so I dont know if these rankings are so good.
((PTS + REB + AST + STL + BLK) - ((FGA - FGM) + (FTA - FTM) + TO)) / G thats what they were basing it on so if someone had 11 points 3 rebounds 2 assists 1 steal 10 blocks attempted 10 shots made 2 attempted 2 ft made 1 had 3 turnovers and played 2 games over the season he would 26-9+3/2 so his efficency would be 10 thats how its done
It's not any of those formulas. It's not efficiency the way you defined it above, it's called "Player Efficiency Rating" or PER. It's a formula that the guy who wrote the article, John Hollinger came up with, that takes into account a lot of things, is a pretty good measurement, and even adjusts for pace and such. It's obviously not the be-all and end-all, but it's not that formula above that makes no sense. To answer TheAnswer2 (no pun intended): I'd take LeBron over Kobe for his versatility and the possibility that he'll still improve. Right now I'd rather have Kobe. In a year or two? And beyond? No question LeBron. He plays small forward and can handle the ball, rebound, and (obviously) score. And he does it efficiently (LeBron shot 50.4% eFG%, which takes into account 3 pointers, compared to Kobe's 48.2%, which was also the league average). As for Kirilenko, his defense is as game changing, if not more so, than Ben Wallace, and on top of that, he can score. He's still improving, and if he makes the leap this year, I think he could be the MVP. It's a bold prediction, but it's a possibility.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Everybody relax. He said he is GOING to be the best, which, being only 26 (or 27) he has the potential to do.</div> I highly doubt he will become the best player in the league. LeBron and Wade are on their way to dethroning Kobe as the best wing player in the league. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If Lebron shows he can even MAKE the playoffs I'll consider him. I don't know how people can say that he isn't clutch or lacks a killer instinct when he has burned the Nets, Bulls, Suns, and others too. And where did all this crap about Kirilenko being injury prone come from? He has one major injury and people (not just you) are saying he is injury prone.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bobcats:</div><div class="quote_post">And where did all this crap about Kirilenko being injury prone come from? If you take a look, Kirilenko had missed 4 games in his first three years before that major injury last year.
