I was wondering if Babcock is still considering finding another player to fill the last and final spot, or not even consider it just to save money.

A lot of "decent" players are out there. since alvin is back![IMG]
we can try to get another big or another guard who can shoot cuz mopete is terrible on the road, or a swing man who can play hard nose D.

    some guys i'd consider are

Stephen Graham--Joey's Brother ( we'd get a graham cracker highlight)
Jahidi White--- A big who is consistent but for minimal #'s and mins.
Kedrick Brown--I kinda liked him back when he was playing, whatever happened to him?
D'or Fischer! -- this guy'd be great! a great shotblocking machine! truly is a true big at 7' or close enough to it, we'd have the youngest bigmen in the game!
Ronald Dupree-an alternate guard cuz we are thin at the 2.
Jawad Williams??? one of the 5 Tar Heels not on a roster yet!
Or bring Uros---but bad idea, if you think not explain... he'd be on our bench all year! we need him to develop.
we should give one of these guys 10 day contracts or something...or at least a 1 year.

OR, do we get no one and keep it as is.

    Post your thoughts and comments..
Personally i'd go for D'or Fischer or Stephen Graham. More defense and more chemistry would occur!

Jahidi White would be an interesting addition, but I think he has already been signed by Cleveland.

    Jahidi White can play C
so i would go for him

as for Stephen Graham--He is a good player but he is a SF/PF and we are packed with those

I think we have to trade some players (everybody but Rose the Bosh and the Rookies), we can send Mo or James or the two for a NORMAL Point Guard, maybe some All-Star PG, some thing like the Webber trade that sent All-Star (Webber) to Phily for 3 players... Or the Baron Davis trade to GS, The Vince trade to NJ that sent us three bubble gums...

We don't need to send an All-Star to get another one...

It's really doesn't metter who we sign for our 15 guy.

His shot wasn't that good.He got over weight and he didn't use his vertical leap to score,he was afraid to drive to the hoop and dunk it hard even when he had like 41 inch vertical leap.

The problem with the Webber trade and the Baron Davis trade is that
    a) Webber has a terrible knee, with an equally terrible contract
[IMG] Baron Davis had a terrible contract and injury concerns.

Whats wrong with a big contracts ? good players have big contracts, Baron is a good player, C-Webb is a good player.
Thats right, there is some players that they after their career high, and they have big contracts (Jalen), but the most players with a big contracts they are also good players.
You did nothing when you don't have big contracts on the team, every team has a big contract or two. (or seven = Knicks [IMG] )

What he means is that B-Davis and Webber had big contracts with Injury problems, and i do not think the Raptors should risk trading their players who can give them lets say 10-14 ppg a night for an all-star who no-one knows how many games he might play a season. As much as i love C-WEBB, i would hate to see him on any of my faviourate teams, just because he gets injured a lot. If we give up j-rose and mo-Pete and get an all-star who tends to be injured a lot, we will probably become a worse team.

I like our team this year and as for Rose, sure he has a big contract but he is not a bad player and has a good heart. He makes everyone around him better, and can put up 18-20 ppg a night. He shows true leadership skills and does not tend to be a cry baby like some of the ex-Raptors (Cough* VC *Cough*

So don't take the risk, and you will finish on the lottery season after season until you will fall down hard to the first draft pick, so OK, you have a first overall pick but you are dead last in the league. How you gets up from that? it's took two years for the Cavaliers to come back to the playoffs.

The Worriors took the risk for Baron Davis, look at them now, one of the best in the West. They was just like the Raptors before the trade, they forfeited on Speedy Claxton (13ppg and 6apg) and Dale Davis (solid center) for All-Star Baron Davis.
Phily took the risk after some lottery seasons (like our situation now), and forfeited on Kenny Thomas (14ppg and 9rpg), Corliss Williamson (10ppg) and Brian Skinner, for All-Star Chris Webber.

If we were to take Baron Davis' contract, first thing to note is that it is 4 years long paying 13.7, 15, 16.4, and 17 mill.

It our chances of getting under the cap for the summer of 2007 season. Which gives a lot of options is a better move for the future and signing players that fit best around Bosh and don't have back injury concerns like Baron Davis.

Also note this, Rafer played 80 games and took 389 3s making 35.7% of them.

Baron Davis played 67 games, took 582 3s and made 32.1%.

Had Baron Davis played 80 games, he would have taken 695 3s! We all didn't like Rafer taking the 3 so much, imagine how it would feel having Baron Davis taking almost twice as many 3s as Rafer and not hitting as many as Rafer.

I'm didn't say we should trade for Baron, i just saying that we should take the risk and make a trade for an All-Star Player, some one that can lead this team with Chris Bosh.
Some one sad once: "This is Chris Bosh's team, Today, Tomorrow, and in the next 10 years". we have to change the situation here, and now, not next summer, after we fall to under 30 wins.

I'm not too enthusiastic about the Raptors picking up another huge contract. I'm happy that they're finally rebuilding right now with young talent. We've been waiting for years and years to get under the cap and we just have a little more to go.

Maybe they're saving some money for the new MLS franchise.

I tend to find this part of hoopshype useful, it will tell you everything you need to know about contract amounts and lengths.
