I gotta say the strongest division is the Central. Every team in it should challenge for a playoff spot, I can seriously see it being like the NFC east is right now, with every team over .500.

I have to say the Southwest Division. Aside from New Orleans, every team is basically guaranteed the playoffs. Plus, the Texas triangle will be fighting for the first, fourth, and fifth spot while Memphis will but holding out the sixth to eighth.

This should not even be a debate it is without a doubt the central. You can make a case that every team in that division will make the playoffs. That division has no weak link, and almost anyone in it can beat each other on a given night.

The strongest division by far last year, statistically, was the Southwest division. They won like 57% of the games against all other divisions, and the second place was something like 53%. The Southwest has only improved this year (San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston are all improved, in my opinion). The Central division will be much improved this year, no doubt, but I'll still stick with Southwest despite the Hornets.

It would be Southwest if the Hornets didn't exist. Unfortunately, they do and that makes that conference weaker, so I'll have to go with Central here with Indy at the top in that div.

Central has 2 teams that could go all the way this year (indiana, det), while the SW has 3 teams that could go all the way.

Lets say Detroit didn't make it to the playoffs this year. Honestly, none of the other Central teams have a shot at going past the ECF, w/ Miami in the way...I am pretty sure that in a 7 game series Indiana could not beat them.

The Spurs, Rockets, and Mavs all have a shot at going past the WCF.

Iono, when you have those 3 teams in one division, regaudless of any other team its hard not to say that they are not the "Strongest Division". No other divion has 3 teams that are so close in W-L during the season. The Central (along w/ sum other divisions like the pacific) division might have that this year. We will have to wait and see.

Lol.........The Central Divsion (yea right). Any division in the east can't compete with ANY in the West. You guys know that, but seem not want to admit it. Southwest division by far, the toughest division in the league. San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston are the toughest trio in the NBA, not including Memphis who would win 50 games in the east. New Orleans seems too be your scapegoat, but they looked dangerous against Sacremento. Southwest division win this thread by a landslide!

Southwest > all other divisions in the NBA. Don't sleep on the Hornets, they have a potential to be actually decent this year. Everything that needs to be said about the 3 Texas teams has been said. Memphis ain't exactly a shabby team either.

We saw what NO did against the Kings, JR Smith, Speedy, Mason, Paul, they can all turn the Hornets into somewhat of a contender. And Memphis is still is a good team with some depth. It will be intresting how these teams playout this season, but the Southwest division takes my vote.
