The Lake Show won't dominate the West, but presuming Phil Jackson gets Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom on the same page, maybe, just maybe Kwame Brown turns into a player and Devean George bounces back, they can make the playoffs and be dangerous. Also keep an eye on the Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks.</div>

It's understandable why the Lakers went for the big man long range, but why go for a high school kid when Jackson isn't likely to be coaching long enough to gather the benefit of his growth?</div>

His reasoning for Bynum being a bust makes no sense. Just because PJax might not be the coach when Bynum develops it means Bynum will be a bust?

I wish he made some predictions on what Bynum will do in the next two or three seasons.

I do agree the Lakers can be a surprise team this year. The expectations are low, but the talent is definitely there for a strong season. The Lakers will get off to a slow start and play inconsistent basketball. However, the team can make a second half push if they learn to work within the Tri, and trust each other on defense. The Lakers could give a top 4 seeded team a war in the first round of the playoffs.

I'd love to see a WAR! Preferably with the Lakers pushing into round 2

War? at most the Lakers might make the 8th where they'd be swept by the Spurs.

How do you predict how/why a guy will bust? We all know that he's in college for the next 4 years anyway. Arent there bigger issues in L.A.? Who knows he might develope in 2 years. Who knows when any player will break out. BUt off of the subject, this is part of the reason there are so few quality bigmen today. The collegiate experience does wonders for the successful bigman. Gets ur confidence and strength up for the next level. But baby steps dont exist any more. Little boys wanna bang with Big Daddy.

    GL LAkers!

At most just an 8th seed? I think at most they can be a 6th seed if things come together for them.

Even if the Lakers get swept by the Spurs they can still make it a war by giving themselves an opportunity to win any of those games. If the Lakers can keep it close in the series it gives them something to build on for next year and catches the attention of the league, which should make free agency easier.
