    GMan's Predictions
Bucks head to New Jersey for another teams home opener. They will be playing back to back road games, facing fresh legs. After a tough overtime win Tuesday in Philly, I think the Bucks will play well, but not well enough to beat a very good Nets team...

    Nets 110
    Bucks 104

No, don't you mean Michael Redd vs. Vince Carter. But anyway, I'm rooting for TJ Ford to have another huge game for the Bucks.

^maybe he wasn't able to edit it...anyway, i think the nets can get it done...they'll get their first W this season at the expense of the Bucks...and hopefully, VC will bag the Player of the Game honors...[IMG]

This will definitely be a tough game. a) The Nets are a very good team [IMG] we're a young team, which makes road games tough c) we just played an OT game in which we played uptempo pretty much the whole time, and the Nets are rested and will want to run again.

I don't see the Bucks winning this one. And that's not all bad; we're a young team that needs to find an identity, and this is a road game against what figures to be one of the ten best teams in the NBA. I don't think we'll win, but I want to see the big men play well. The Nets aren't too solid inside, and this would be a GREAT game for Bogut to gain some confidnece before he faces Shaq in the Bucks' home opener.

And boys, can we play some defense this game? [IMG]

My prediction: Nets 107 Bucks 95

I see nets winning this by about 10+ points..
Bucks: TJ Ford/Redd come up big again
while Magloire's number remain low and Bogut's numbers fall

btw Why did magloire play so badly last night?
His rebounds were good..but he shot terribly..
is he 100% yet from his injury?

Magloire has not had time to fit into the system. I was actually surprised he started last night. I figured the Bucks would start with Bogut/Gadz and let Magloire watch from the sidelines to learn the system better. He could have worked over the 76ers second unit as well. Bucks still won, so no reason for me to complain.

You cannot say enough about TJ Ford last night. I'm really looking forward to see how he performs against Jason Kidd. Last night the Bucks shoot poorly in the first half, but they cannot get off to a slow start tonight and hope to comeback against the Nets. Kidd is great at closing out games and he has the talent around him to keep the game out of reach.

Should be a lot of high flying finishes in the game tonight, both teams like to get out and run.

You made a good point about Magloire, Shape. I think we'd be better having him come off the bench for at least awhile. I think that Gadzuric is pretty much as good as he is defensively, though he plays a different style. Gadz would allow us to run more to start out and really get the offense going before bringing Magloire in against the opponents' subs and letting him work in the post. Hopefully Stotts employs a lineup like that at some point in the year.

Well, we're at the end of the 1st quarter and the Bucks are already down 29-17. [IMG] T.J Ford is off to a good start with 8 points, but the defense was terrible in the first half. I think that's going to be something I bitch about all year long from the looks of the first 5+ quarters the Bucks have played this year. [IMG]

End of the 1st half, and now it's only a 48-46 Nets league. The Bucks pushed the ball in transition well in the 2nd quarter, and the guards are leading the way. We've still got to do a better job on defense, though. [IMG] Here's hoping for a big 2nd half!!! T.J is on his way to another very nice game, with 13 points and 2 assists, and Bogut has been ok with 6 points and 7 boards.

Bogut already has a double/double! And it's only midway through the 3rd quarter! Let's hope the Bogeyman keeps this up!!! [IMG] [IMG]

Now if only Bogut and the rest can play some interior D-Kristic and Collins have combined for 23 points already [IMG]

Bucks take a 10 point lead into the third quarter. Let's go Bucks!!! [IMG] [IMG]

Just call him Vlade Jr. [IMG] [IMG]

Jason Kidd is nearing a triple double, but our guards are the difference in this game: we're up 85-69 and Redd, TJ and Mo have combined for 61 points!!!

Now comes the test: can we play defense and make shots down the stretch? Let's see some grit, Bucks!!!

Nets are in the bonus for the rest of the game, that's not good [IMG]

Nets have gone to a very small lineup now, we've gotta play some D-can't let their wing guys get them back in this game...

Technical on Jefferson-I wish this was on t.v, I feel like I hardly know what's going on out there! And now a technical on Mo!

We're getting into problems with fouls, this is not good. Danny G already fouled out, Bobby has 5, we've got 5 guys with at least 3 fouls...

Magloire can't buy a bucket, but he just had blocks on back to back Nets posessions! That's the kind of defensive presence we need down low!!! Let's keep it going, Bucks!

Well, now the Nets are in the double bonus [IMG] Guys, we need DEFENSE, not fouls! Now Bobby fouls out! [IMG] QUIT WITH THE FOULS ALREADY!!!!!!!! [IMG]

    Bucks/Nets Recap-Bucks win 110-96

The Bucks came into New Jersey and got an impressive road victory against a good Nets team. Michael Redd was huge, leading the way with 41 points and 7 boards, while Andrew Bogut was a major presence on the glass, with 10 points and 17 rebounds. The Bucks got into foul trouble down the stretch, as both Dan Gadzuric and Bobby Simmons fouled out, but played effective defense, limiting the Nets' big three of Kidd, Jefferson and Carter to a combined 16 of 42 shooting. Jamal Magloire continued to struggle offensively, but was a presence in the fourth quarter defensively, finishing with 7 boards and 3 blocks for the game. This is a huge confidence boost for the young Bucks, getting a big road win against an Eastern Conference power.

41 for Redd and two others with over 20...Ford looks like he leld his own against Kidd. If we can win by 14, on the road, shooting 38%, against a team like NJ, we're doing something right!

We actually played pretty good defense on the Nets' stars, which bodes very well for us. They didn't have their best night, but we played well in the second half. A good, gritty win for our young squad! [IMG] [IMG]

I'm getting the feeling that Magloire is going to be important to this team in other ways than scoring. If we can score 117 and 100 with virtually no help from him offensively, we obviously have other guys that can shoot. We may depend on him more to play D and fill up the middle. I'm not worried about his low numbers thus far.

It's still very early in the year, but here are some averages that make me very happy: T.J Ford-18 ppg, 6 rpg, 8.5 apg and Andrew Bogut-11.5 ppg, 13 rpg [IMG] [IMG] We're off to a very impressive start!

Very good point. We've got the perimeter firepower, and if Danny and Jamal anchor the paint defensively, it'll be a big boost [IMG]
