vs Dallas Mavericks (1-0) vs Utah Jazz (0-0) Date: Wednesday November 2, 2005 Time: 9:30 (Local) Place: @ Utah Project Starting Lineups THE LOWDOWN: Dallas is coming off a tough double OT against Phoenix and will be tired after 58 grueling minutes and a plane from Phoenix to Utah. But Dallas has the edge in basically every position here with big edges at the 1 and 2. Terry will need to put a body on Deron and not let him initate the offense, and Dallas' offense will need to be up to date and not go down to the style of Utah. MAIN MATCHUP vs Like Marion, Kirilenko is a quicker defender with long arms. He has great help defense, but look for Dirk to have his own way with Kirilenko

That game last night was as stressful as an opener? can get. The Mavericks played great in the overtime but It should of ended in regulation. But after this game it looks like Avery doesnt want Howard to step up. He's just gonna be a role player, and I'm not liking that. Marquis was great, getting to the basket, Van Horn was great, Dampier and "Pork" Diop will get a chance to play this game since Utah wont play small ball. And I think we'll do fine. Dallas-93 Utah-82 Edit: Hey Maverick, Doesnt it feel weird to see Doug Christie hold up that Rock Out sign everytime DIRK!!! hit's a shot? It bugged me the entire time i was watching the game.
Memet Okur should be the focus for the Mavs defense tonight. He's figured out Sloan's system and has been very efficient in the preseason. He's one of those players who gets hot and stays hot all game long. Damp needs to intimidate him early and get physical with him. Boozer is still out with his groin injury, so Harpring will likely start at SF, and AK47 at PF. I really liked the backcourt play from the Mavs last night. The trio of Terry, Daniels, and Harris should give the Jazz a lot of similar problems tonight. Deron is a rookie and will make rookie mistakes when the Mavs pressure him. The Jazz also don't have the quickness in the backcourt to check Terry or Harris. The backcourt edge for the Mavs will allow them to control the tempo tonight and they should win this game fairly easy. The Jazz will rely on offensive rebounding to stay in this game. They are one of the best in the league at crashing the boards, and the Mavs are one of the worst at boxing out. Still I just don't see the Jazz having the firepower to keep up with the Mavs tonight.
MOst of you guys are missing who needs to step up. Doug Christie after starting yesterday Scored 0 Points after playing for 25 mins. If he can step up then the load will be lighter on Dirk and Terry to lead the team. But like Maverick Said The mavs look like they have edge.
