It was just on ESPN's bottom line, no source yet. Nene will miss the rest of the year with a torn ACL. This is really tough for the Nuggets, it wipes out their interior depth and now if Camby gets hurt, it could be disastrous for Denver. Two years in a row the Nuggets lose a key guy in the first game of the year.
Sorry, but thats just funny. Both years they have lost someone important to injury and that too in the first game of the season. Nene had injury trouble last year too. It could really hurt his career when he becomes a restricted free agent. Too bad the nuggets didnt trade him soon enough(if they were trying too).
Ouch, that is a real killer blow to the Nuggets. They now just have Camby as an interior presence and plus Nene was on the trading block for the Nuggs, now they have to keep him but on the sideline. BTW, Who got hurt last year on the first game?

Now that Nene is hurt, the Nuggets can't get anything for him on trading block so this really hurts Denver. With Nene out, the Nuggets have started searching for some replacements down low. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Denver Post - With Nene likely out for the season, the Nuggets have talked about free-agent big men and received a few calls from agents. NBA veterans available include Jerome Moiso, Tony Massenburg and Corie Blount</div> http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives..._agent_big_men/ No big news yet but I'm almost positive we will see one of these guys signed in the next couple of days.
Phew what a loss in Nene to the team and what a bummer to him getting ripped out of the season just in the second game. I`m hoping to see a decent big man signed to be a good fill-in for Nene.
Yea, that is a really tough break for the Nuggets. Also a bad injury for Nene because he was in a contract year. He might be regretting not signing to a contract for less earlier in the season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Schaddy:</div><div class="quote_post">Voshon Lenard</div> Oh yeah, it was him, it was bugging me that I forgot who it was, thanks.
Is there any chance that they won't sign anyone else because they still have Elson and Najera? Although Martin and Camby seem to get injured a bit too, so maybe another back-up would help.

So far the Knicks have been mentioned. However, the Knicks are always mentioned in trade rumors, but I don't see the Nuggets jumping at the chance to land Malik Rose or Mo Taylor. I think they should try to go after Primoz Brezec or Melvin Ely from the Bobcats.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting j-mac31:</div><div class="quote_post">To add to my previous post, any chance that they might decide to get Aussie Luke Schenscher back?</div> It's possible, the Nuggets have petitioned the league for an injury exception since Nene is out for the season. If the league grants them an additional roster spot, then Luke would make sense, or you might see someone like Tom Gugliotta, Christian Laettner, or Latrell Sprewell get look. Edit: Actually scratch Luke, he was signed by the Sacramento Kings.
I'm pretty sure Luke was cut by the Kings and he's now trying to get a game in Europe. If he doesn't get a spot there Adelaide (in Australia) said that they would be very keen to get him. So I don't think he is still with the Kings. EDIT - he's not on the Kings roster on their homepage.

Poor Nene. He's got too much talent to not get a look in the FA market, but no doubt his hopes of a big contract are now shot.
