As a player, Tripucka spent 10 seasons in the NBA with the Pistons, Utah Jazz and Charlotte Hornets. A two-time all-star, he averaged 17.2 points for his career, including a career high of 26.5 points in 1982-83. An Academic All-America at the University of Notre Dame, he led the Fightin? Irish in scoring each of his last three seasons.
