We let the Pistons get so many easy points because of poor defensive play. Philly must not let Wallace, Okafor and Felton take over the game, as they will really put a hurting on teams if you let them. After that loss to the Pistons, the Sixers must also be on the same page on the offensive end, or else they will be feeling deja vu against an improved Charlotte team. Bobcats: Take advantage of the Sixers' lack of depth in the frontcourt. Don't give up big leads like against the Bulls. Even if your'e up by 30, gotta keep that lead going, or it'll lead to another loss. <div align="center"><u>Matchup To Look Out For</u> Emeka Okafor vs Chris Webber</div> This should be a nice, early challenge for last seasons ROY(Okafor). Expect C-Webb and Mek to be going at it the whole game, but in the end, a rejuvenated, healthy C-Webb will win this matchup in the long run. Iverson and Iggy will be too much to handle for Rush and rookie Ray Felton, although look for Gerald Wallace to expose Korver's sub-par defense and totally dominate him all game. These Bobcatters are definately an improved team, but they still can't hold a candle to the Sixers yet. Philly wins 101-82. Comments are appreciated.
Damn awesome preview, PD. My friends and I were talking about tonights game against Charlotte and they all said "Oh this is an easy one tonight!", but I`m a little optimistic. Even though they blew the huge lead that the Bobcats had against Chicago, they worked hard for that lead and thats what Charlotte is planning on doing this season. Making a name for themselves and becoming a decent contender. Defense and some good chemistry I`m looking for tonight from the 76ers. We get that, another good performance from AI and Webber, I think we`ll be good to go.
Kyle Korver make a basket for crying out loud. The Bobcats play competitive basketball, but the 76ers just have too, much talent in the starting lineup. Steven Hunter is doing a nice job out there so far.
...I just checked the boxscore, and I must say, how the heck are we losing? Nevermind, stupid question. We don't have a backup center or powerforward. Anyways, everyone still seem to be having a bad shooting night except for Hunter, Iguodala, and Webber. So far Webber is still keeping up his job with bringing down rebounds for the team while its quiet evident that Korver has expanded his role to much more than just shooting three's with his rebounding and assist. Still, it would be ten times better if he could get back into his shooting groove. Lets see how this one pans out. Nice work Psycho Drama on the preview!
The Bobcats played the same way against the Bulls, and collapsed in the second half. They are vulnerable even though they lead 52-44 at halftime. Kyle Korver still can't buy a bucket.
dang. korver really needs to do something about his shot. he's 0-5 so far. im starting to think that adding all the muscle is a bad thing.
79-66 Charlotte at the end of 3. Don't worry Sixers fans, the typical Bobcats collapse should happen about 3-5 minutes into the 4th.
Everything that could possibly go wrong is going wrong right now. I honestly think Korver should be pulled from the starting lineup. The 76ers are playing very careless on both sides of the ball, they look sloppy. Hopefully this team can regroup sometime before 79 games is up.
wow im pissed with this game. i cant believe we lost again let alone to the bobcats! this sixer team has looked very sloppy for the entire game. and kyle friggin korver cant do anything for us! makes me really regret him adding the muscle. i just hope that sammy, bradley, and shav come back soon because we have absolutely no depth at all in the frontcourt.
Yeah we look real bad. At the rate we're going, we'll have Rudy Gay at SF next year. We need Dalembert back BAD. Maybe Billy King can find us some depth for our big men. We can't rebound, period. At least James Thomas gave us some energy and hustle off the bench. Cheeks needs to bench Korver. Hes killing us with his horrible offense and defense. Let him get more practice in and get his game back. Start Iggy at SF and Salmons at SG. AI needs to shoot less once the others guy start to step up. Anyone else notice he was really pissed the whole game? It was nothing like the game against the Bucks when we played good for 3 and a half quarters.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AI2AI888:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah we look real bad. At the rate we're going, we'll have Rudy Gay at SF next year. </div> Last season Bulls start off 0-9 turns their season around make the playoffs with home court advantage. The season prior to that Heat start off 0-7 make the playoffs with the fifth seed, and go to the second round. The 76ers are no where near ready to hit the panic button yet. They will go 0-4 after the Pacers game in my opinion, but at the same time still nothing I would be worried about the NBA is a league of runs. Each team has there big win streak, and big losing streak. I would be thankful that we are going through rough times now and not later in the season like when we are in the playoff hunt for example. The 76ers have had some bad breaks so far this season two of the first three games Iguodala has been in foul trouble. Korver is playing like trash he can not even do the one thing we ask of him which is make three pointers. Salmons should have been the starter on opening night, and will keep on saying that all season until they start him. I can see where Cheeks is coming from with not pulling Korver. By pulling him now you would plant a seed of doubt in his mind. It would grow all season until he regressed in his development, but by letting him play through it he will work out of this slump, and play better for us during the stretch run of the season. My heart says start Salmons, but my head understands why Korver is still starting is what I am trying to get at. Like Allen said in the post game interview the older guys need to step up and be leaders guys like Nailon, Webber, Ollie, etc need to show there veteran leadership, and calm these young guys down so they can rid the ship before it is to late. A veteran leader does not always have to be a superstar look at the Bulls last season the captains where Antonio Davis, Adrian Griffin, and Kirk Hinrich. Davis and Griffin are not all stars, but good locker room influences I think Webber and Ollie should try to become better leaders. Although, Ollie is not a huge factor when on the court he has been in the league a while now, and has been through these situations.
