<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Heat vehemently denied an Internet report that it was on the verge of signing Latrell Sprewell. The free-agent swingman had attracted Heat interest in previous seasons, including when he was dealt from the Warriors to the Knicks. But Thursday's report caught the Heat by surprise and drew a swift rebuke. "I don't know anything about it," Van Gundy said. "That has not been anything that anyone has spoken to me about." Sprewell last season turned down a three-year, $21 million extension from the Timberwolves and since has been rejected in bids to sign with the Lakers and Nuggets.</div> Source Seems like everytime a rumor gets denied something happens soon after. With Shaq now out, don't be surprised to see Sprewell in Miami.

If anything, however, Sprewell should be looking to go to a team who really need a player like him. Miami, however, need a center to take over for the next few weeks. If I was the GM, I wouldn't take him. But then again, I'm not the GM, am I?.....
The rockets could really use him for a while to fill in for tmac. Dont know if he would accept something like a ten day contract though. Like the cartoon.

JVG is familiar with Sprewell and knows what he can expect from him. I'm not sure what money the Rockets have left, but he would be a solid temporary solution until TMac comes back.
There is no way that Spree would sign a 10 day contract at this point in his career. Especially considering what he has already turned down. Come on. I don't see him being a good replacement for Tmac either. He doesn't command enough attention to free up Yao, and I can easily picture him and taking ill advised shots and refusing to stop. Those two together could lose games.
I think its so funny he turned down a 10+ million dollar contract to sit at home an earn 0. Actually its kinda sad.

I think he would fit great in Houston, you never know he may end up getting the staring 2 spot on a contender somehting Minnesota is not.
He is a fool to knock back the lakers, but then again with the form Kobe and Smush are in at the moment, he wouldnt get many minutes in regular season, and none in the post season, knowiing how Jackson works. He should be grateful for any deal at his age...the CHUMP.
What did him in was pride. You know what Marcellus Wallace (Ving Rhames) said. "That's just pride, @$#ing with ya'. &%*@ PRIDE!" He should have thought about that before and checked the depth, instead of diving in.
