<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">In just over a year with the franchise, there have been plenty of times Tracy McGrady has carried the Rockets. Friday afternoon, Rockets trainer Keith Jones virtually carried McGrady out of the locker room and into a Toyota Center hallway, where he was loaded onto a flatbed electric cart for the short ride to his car. McGrady grinned and grimaced as he went by. The rest of the Rockets frowned with concern. An awkward landing following a dunk near the end of practice sent McGrady limping off the court with back spasms and makes him questionable tonight against the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets. "He's our guy," center Yao Ming said. "No one wants to see him go down. It scared people. It scared me." At this point, the medical and basketball staffs are trying not to sound the alarm. "We're treating him for pain associated with back spasms," Jones said in a statement released by the Rockets. "We'll be treating him throughout the day and evaluating him further. He's going to get a lot of treatment today, and we're not going to know anything until (today). Obviously, it's a game-time type decision." It is the latest in a series of physical problems suffered by McGrady since the start of training camp. He sat out the final two preseason games with tendinitis in both knees, then bruised his left knee when he collided with Dikembe Mutombo during the final workout before Wednesday's season opener. Then, he often hobbled around the floor while scoring 23 points in a 98-89 win over Sacramento.</div> Full Story Hopefully T-Mac will be alright. Against the Hornets tonight, he might get plenty of rest if the Rockets can get a big lead over New Orleans early in the game.
Man I hope Tmac's okay....I wish he wouldn't play so hard in practice...lol......to be honest I'd rather see him sit the next game or so and give the back and knee time to heal up.....we should be able to take care of the Hornets and Magic with or without Tracy.
i heard that yesterday... it was during practice and i'm wondering.. WHY IS HE IN PRACTICE WHEN HIS LEG NEEDS TO HEAL?
I dont think he'll be playing today...in fact, I'm 99% sure...he might even miss Wednesday's game against Orlando...I dont think it'll hurt us if he misses the next two games (against teams that are combined 1-4) because that would give him a week of rest...

The thing I cant get over is the two injuries TMac has had to deal with are his back and knees. Those are awfull injuries for a player who relies on his quickness and jumping ability. He has an ongoing back problem for the last couple seasons, now add a knee problem, it is a huge concern. Sitting against the Hornets is the right thing to do if he couldnt walk to his car.
I agree with everyone else that T-mac should sit out this game. I'd rather he miss a couple of games than his injury getting worse and him missing the entire season. I'm really worried about T-mac in the long term..I think he has to start playing a lot less than 40 mins a game, its really wearing him out.
