Why hasn't anyone mentioned the Grizzlies so far? Before the season started, about half of the posters on this site considered them a bubble playoff team, and most of the posters (including myself) thought that they got shafted in the Miami trade and in Free Agency, but they really wound up on the better end of that one. The chemistry with this new team is amazing with no Stromile Swift, James Posey, Bonzi Wells, or Jason Williams causing problems in the locker room. As for their playoff outlook, they're the #2 team in the West right behind the Spurs and if the Sonics win tonight, the Grizzlies will be the #3 team in the entire NBA. You can't tell me that you expected this out of the Grizzlies.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Voodoo Child:</div><div class="quote_post">Why hasn't anyone mentioned the Grizzlies so far? </div> We need to get Pau to force 30 shots a game if we're ever going to get any credit for our form. We're 12-5, have the best defence in the entire league and have an average winning margin of 26 over our last three games. I think that deserves a bit of coverage.
clippers are doing really well but i always knew they were good, but rockets shud the surprise team for the team thats doing so bad
remember when the hornets were supposed to be 30th place in the power rankings? now they have like a 7-7 record or something like that. and besides them the clippers for sure, and memphis. when they traded 4 of their 5 starters jsut because jerry west thought it would be cool. look at how good theyre doing now
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting superman32:</div><div class="quote_post"> memphis. when they traded 4 of their 5 starters jsut because jerry west thought it would be cool</div> Four starters? And yes, i'm sure Jerry did the deals just for fun, had absolutely nothing to do with J-Will's attitude problems or the contract problems with Bonzi.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jerry West:</div><div class="quote_post">And yes, i'm sure Jerry did the deals just for fun, had absolutely nothing to do with J-Will's attitude problems or the contract problems with Bonzi.</div> Well West brought those guys in knowing that they were hard to coach. Bonzi was well known for his attitude. So stop trying to defend logo's decision, he knew all along what kind of players he was bringing in. People need to stop listing the Lakers, Pistons, and Pacers as surprise teams of the year. The Pacers and Pistons were both expected to be good, and the Lakers aren't even playing well. Same goes for the Warriors, we already knew that they would be good this year based on how they played after the trade last season. Clippers and Hornets get my vote.

I don't understand how anyone can "already knew" the Clippers will be doing this well. Seriously, we're talking about the LA Clippers leading the Pacific Division and having the 3rd best record in the West. Anyways, I didn't think Memphis was gonna do this well too but they've always been a solid team and have been known historically to find a way to sneak up on the rankings and into the playoffs, so they're not really that surprising
^ Memphis has been a solid 45-50 win team the past couple of seasons, but after the trade, a lot of people had them as a 6-8th seed/missing playoffs. They have definitely surprised me.

Clipps and Memphis have definitely been surprising thus far, I thought both teams would be lucky to make the playoffs before but now they are looking like locks to get in.
^ The Grizzlies are a surprise indeed...so far. We're not even 20 games into the season yet. Sounds like some people are already making up their minds on whos going to the playoffs and whos not...whos going to win their division and whos not.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting superman32:</div><div class="quote_post">j-will, swift, posey, wells... an i missind anyone?</div> Stromile Swift wasn't a starter and we didn't trade him.
