Day 4 -- Fantasy Gods, Idiots, & Sleepers

More great performances and also more disappointments. Also late breaking injury news, Tracy McGrady is out for tonight's game against the Hornets. This year's "Bobby Simmons" once again comes out of Clipperland, James Singleton. He posted his second double double in two games. He's likely still on most waiver wires, but he won't be for long so go get him. A few other situations to keep an eye on, Baron Davis sat out with an injury, as did Al Harrington. As the week comes to an end, I'm going to be tougher on player performances. The end of the week determines everything in head to head match ups, therefore us fantasy junkies expect more from our players.

BTW - Does anyone still have Kyle Korver on their team? If you need a replacement the early canidate is Richie Frahm out of Minny.

These stats are what fantasy basketball players concern themselves with and pay more attention to their "guys" instead of the final score. There are three types of performances to describe players from last night, they are "Godlike", "Damn You [<font size=""1"">Insert Curse Word</font>] Idiot", and "Yes My Sleeper Came Through, I Told You So".

[imgl]http://www.justbball.org/data/5/7/7/b/c/302//god.jpg[/imgl]Godlike - Are players who, provided you the best stats across the various statistical categories used in fantasy basketball leagues. These are players who put up stats worthy of being a Top 25 selection.

[imgl]http://www.justbball.org/data/5/7/7/b/c/302//idiot.jpg[/imgl]Damn You [<font size=""1"">Insert Curse Word</font>] Idiot - Are players you thought were "Godlike", but stunk it up instead and had you cursing at your poor judgement in selecting that letdown player too, early in your draft.

[imgl]http://www.justbball.org/data/5/7/7/b/c/302//itoldyouso.jpg[/imgl]Yes My Sleeper Came Through, I Told You So - These are players you drafted in the later rounds and typed out in all caps "HE'S MY SLEEPER THIS YEAR!" or "HE'S A STEAL THIS LATE IN THE DRAFT!" Basically these players exceeded everyone's expectations except your own.

These categories include, Points, Assists, Rebounds, Field Goal %, Free Throw %, 3 Pointers, Blocks, Steals, & Turnovers.

Wow, has Korver been crap or what? I am so smart for not drafting him in any of my leagues. I found it hard to draft him before Webber, Odom, and Walker who were still on the board after he went in most leagues. How about Leonard huh? I love him in fantasy leagues for his three point shooting but would not be surprised if those were career highs in assists and rebounds. (for the picky, it ties a career high for assists, he has had 10 or more rebounds a few times)

    As always, thanks Shape.

Just picked up Singleton off the waiver wire in both of my leagues. If he stays consistent, he could be a steal.

Hold up on cutting Korver, he's close to a triple double tonight including three from behind the arc. All this against the Pacers of all teams.

I wasn't going to cut him, I am just glad I didn't draft him.

So glad I drafted Richard Jefferson.

35/12/5 last night and 28/13/7 tonight. Having Yao didn't hurt too, 7 blocks.
