LeBron James vs Jalen Rose

If we go by the kind of games JR has been having lately and the numbers King James put up in the first 3 games of this young season, then this matchup would look like Mike Tyson taking on Napoleon Dynamite in a life or death Boxing Match, a mismatch beyond belief. But with all the rumblings and critisism he 's been hearing lately, Jalen should come out as agressive and tenacious as ever, courtesy of last year's performances when was annoited the 6th man rule. But knowing Rose, he would probably take the last three quarters of the game off defencively, which is why I'm led to believe that this game might feature LeBron's career-high performance point wise, becoming the first player to threaten Wilt Chamberline's 100 points record (Ok, I was kidding about breaking Wilt's record, but if you don't think LeBron would have one of his best offensive games ever if Rose guarded him, then you're an idiot wraped in a moron).

Picked Before Iggy-Loren "Flip Flops" Woods

As most of you already know, the Toronto Raptors possess the most useless 7 footer in the world, accompanied by a 6'11, 280 lbs Brazilian giant, who according to the man who drafted him, is "vastly talented", but struggles to get any action in the seond half of a 33-point blowout. If these two can get their heads and combined talent together and manage to matchup against one of the many Raptor-killers this league has, in Illgauskas, without getting emabrressed, then we have a good chance for the W. Both Hoffa and Woods need to concentrate on containing him defensively and keeping him off the offensive glass. Offensively, just let the game come to them and do most of the damage on crashing the offensive board. NO 3 POINT SHOTS ALLOWED!

    .......

    Say What?! (Prediction)

With a potential 0-4 start shining before our very eyes, I'm going to go on a limb here and predict a Raptor victory. Raptors win, 107-98.

I feel you on that one. Honestly, the league should allow us to play 6 players so that Bonner doesn't have to guard anyone.

Lebron has his best games against TO, remember the 56 points or the triple double to end the season. i think the better matchup should be james and graham, they look like similar built players.

i predict lebron having a trip-dub with at least 30. and cavs by 10.

a lot of players have GREAT games vs toronto in the past couple years....most of them SF.

Example...just look at jefferson and Prince so far this year vs toronto.

Toronto has awful defence and looks lost a lot of times...i fell asleep when i watched that detroit game...when ben wallace scores 15pts on you...you got a BIG problem

The Raptors wing players will have their hands full tonight trying to guard Lebron, Hughes and gang. I think Rose will get played less this game and Peterson more both because of their recent streaks, and also Jalen's propensity to get burned on defense by whoever he guards, be it Lebron, Hughes or even Sasha Pavlovic.

Raptors are traditionally a good team at home and the possibility of a 0-4 start might just light some flames within some players. I'll go out on a limb together with Purple Fever, Raps by 3, with Mo Pete making the game-winner from an assist by Calderon.

If Cleveland don't win, you might have to worry about me dying of one of the causes you mentioned above, lol. Check out my preview in the Cavs section, if you can. I'd like some comments from a Raptors fan's point of view.

I did actually, but I saw Rose being referred to as a "Great attacker" so I closed the page.

I'm really not sure why, but Drew Gooden owned Bosh last season. I know he averaged pretty good numbers against us, and I expect him to continue that. Of course Lebron will get his, no doubt about that, but Hughes hasn't really gotten into the mix with the Cavs, so we'll see how things work out for them.

As for the game, I expect the Cavs to take this one, I'm scared of going 0-4, but I think it's going to happen.

    Raps loose 105-93

this really sucks..we need a win..hopefully we should get one next game vs jazz'

Bosh was impressive tonight nailing 26 Pts
    12 Rebs, 3 Assists

James played pretty well aswell;17 points, and 6 rebounds
and Mo-Pete came off the bench to contribute pretty good

we still have a C problem however..with hoffa/wood both struggling

btw does anyone know why JOSE was given a technical foul?

I'll make this quick, since I'm trying to read chapter 12 of Astronomy...I want to clear my chest on this post. First off, I'd rather the Raps lose by 1 point in the dying seconds every single game this season, rather than making themselves look foolish for the media to chop up afterwards.

The new duo that will emerge for the Raps this season will be Mo-Pete and Calderon...We can either call this tag team "Mo-se" pronounced "MO-SAY" or "Jo-Mo" pronounced "Homo"...but if it were up to me, I'd stick to just calling them by their original names.

The Raps have no true centers, which is a contradiction since we have 3 capable centers that just don't seem to produce any positives. However, maybe Aaron William's can help in that department- dislocated fingers and all. The point is, the Raps are obviously doomed in this position, but let us all move on and just hope that Bosh and Charlie V will stay healthy for us.

Here's what I thought of the game: (Stars for those that deserved it)

Broomgirl (5 STARS) was amazing...am I the only one who sees her? You can tell the entire Cavaliers bench was checking her out, especially Luke Jackson who had a pen and paper ready to ask for her msn out there. hahahaha!

Bosh (5 STARS) played amazing after a slow start to the season. He got his share of dunks, thanks to Mike Jaaaaaames, but what impressed me the most was that he was able to grab rebounds against foes like Big Z and Drew Gooden.

Rose (3 STARS) played decent, but it wasn't his night. He wasn't knocking down his free throws and his defense was not very impressive either. Hey, at least, he passed the ball around.

Mo-Pete (4 STARS) played another great game. Ok, more like mediocre but he's one of the only Raps that have been consistent so far this season. I'm still surprised that he doesn't get the ball enough on offense and he was open many times during the game. That hussle play to regain possession against Hughes probably gave Sam Mitchell orgasms on the bench.

Mike Jaaaames (4 STARS) was the catalyst tonight. He not only found ways to get to the basket, but also fed the ball around to a hungry CB4. For some reason, I don't think he gets enough recognition for the job he's done so far for the Raps.

Calderon (4 STARS) is the best passer this team has got, but he started off shaky- turning the ball over a couple of times, but still managed to feed the ball around and overall, I think he needs to take more shots out there.

Aaron Williams (3 STARS) played with 3 dislocated fingers and still played well, scoring a couple of great looking baskets and providing a "big body" underneath. I still don't know if he's white or black, or a mix. The point is...he's a hell of a lot better looking that Eric Williams. I mean, thank God that Eric Williams decided to turn his face when the camera was right at him. Jesus Christ!

Bosh was great tonight. He basically did everything that was missing from his first 3 games: rebound, shoot well, play with passion. I want to see these kind of games on a more consistent basis.

James played his best game as a Raptor. He shot decently well, minimized his bad shots and ran the team well.

The rookies played well (again). They didn't try to force anything and just played their games.

Mo was good. He showed me a lot on that hustle play. He's still our most consistent player so far. I hope he's turned the corner in terms of consistency. Rose forced up his usual amount of shots.

Woods and Araujo were garbage as usual, Woods especially. Woods was one of the reasons we fell behind early, he missed all the shots we got for him.

The two Williams played well. We should play them a little more often to stabilize the team. They know their roles.

I was upset that Bosh was trying to do things that weren't his strong points in the first 3 games, but I'm alright with that now because he's improving. He still lacks a good back-to-the-basket game, but its getting better along with his play off the right side, against the double team and his rebounding. He might as well try to improve his weaknesses while he's young, so he can be a better player when this team can actually win games.

Bosh has finally got his mid-range J, it was pleasure last night watching him drain so many of them from the left elbow on Ilgauskas. Mike James played his best game so far as a Raptor, he took mostly good shots and looked for teammates more.

I don't know why Sam Mitchell hasn't been trying to establish Jalen Rose in the post. Bosh hasn't been able to be reckoned as a force in the paint and Jalen is the other best option we have. Instead of posting up Matt Bonner, why not Jalen?

Why can't everyone (Well 5 players atleast) be very good on the same day? Oh well, can't complain about this one...we just suck on D. Not much else to say.

Anyone hear Bosh scream after one his dunks? Sounded kinda weird...
