It is to Terry Stotts, though. The Bucks head coach served as an assistant last season under Warriors coach Mike Montgomery.

"It's always enjoyable playing against your former team, whatever the circumstances," Stotts said. "You have friends on the team, people who you spent time with. So I'm looking forward to playing them."

One of those people is Baron Davis, the Warriors talented point guard. Stotts is keenly aware of Davis' talents and realizes the Bucks will have to contain him in order to win Tuesday night's game at the Bradley Center.

Stotts said Davis, whom the Warriors acquired from New Orleans in a trade last February, instantly changed the Warriors' fortunes.

"We started out 0-6 and it didn't seem we were going anywhere," Stotts said. "But then we got Baron and everything seemed to change. He brought life to our team. All of a sudden, there was an enthusiasm about our team. He made that big of a difference."

    PLAYER NOTES

--Power forward Joe Smith and reserve swingman Jiri Welsch are expected to see action Tuesday against Golden State. Smith (swollen left) and Welsch (left quad contusion) have yet to play in the regular season.

--Backup guard Charlie Bell said he had a couple of more lucrative offers to play overseas but rejected them so he could play in the NBA. Bell, who played in Spain last season, said Tau Ceremaca in Spain was prepared to offer him double his current salary of $641,000 for two seasons. "And it would have been tax free," Bell said smiling.

--Bucks rookie center Andrew Bogut reported to training camp at 255 pounds. After the first two regular-season games, he's now at 250 pounds.

--Shooting guard Reece Gaines has yet to appear in any regular-season game this season. Still, he said he's trying to stay mentally and physically ready when he's called on. Said Gaines: "Everybody gets a chance during an 82-game season. I got to take advantage of my chance. I'm looking forward to my chance to the coach I can play. But until then, I'm going to keep cheering my teammates on."</div>

Should be an interesting reunion for Stotts-he's riding high at the right time to be facing his old team.
