<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">5) Who is the most likely superstar to be traded this year? Kevin Garnett. The T-Wolves shot themselves in the foot when they dumped Sam Cassell for Marko Jaric, a point guard who's always looked better on paper than on the floor. With rookie coach Dwane Casey finding his way, KG is back to having to do everything, leading the team in points, rebounds and assists early on, and his name is already getting bandied around in trade rumors. One team that I've heard from someone in the know? The Lakers.</div> .....

This won't happen, if it does, we'll have to trade Odom or Kobe. Most likely Odom and some other players. If we did actually aquire Garnett for Odom and some scrap, it would be interesting to play him at SF. PG- Smush Parker SG- Kobe Bryant SF- Kevin Garnett PF- Kwame Brown C- Chris Mihm If only Kwame took more shots, yesterday he only took 3! Chris Mihm proves he has the ability to play well, hopefully he can continue with at least 12/9
I was thinkin we'd screw the Wolves like the Heat screwed us and trade Kwame, Slava, Brian Grants expiring contract which is still on our books (by doing this it ensures that the financial specifications for a trade are met, as well as getting the wolves well under the salary cap to pursue a free agent) and some cash for KG... PG- Smush SG- Kobe SF- Odom PF- Garnett C- Mihm I couldn't ask for more. Though I do beleive the laker team we have right now is capable of big things once they gather experience
Ok here's a multi-million dollar question .. would you trade Kobe for KG? I know it might not be popular, (maybe it is), but I would make this trade. KG is better than Kobe Bryant, and it's harder to find a quality big man than it is a shooting guard.
I would also, but I don't think the Laker organization would. They put their future in Kobe, I don't think they'd let go of him.
Don't even bother putting Kobe in the equation. He's strictly UNTOUCHABLE. He's the franchise player, Laker for life. Odom, Kwame, possibly George or some cash for KG.

I wouldn't. Kobe Bryant is comparable to a player with only a few years experience in the L because he's having to do it on his own. We haven't seen what he can do yet, we've seen Garnett for 10 years. Plus efficiency rankings are putting Kobe as the best player in the L right now
I'd take Bryant. He is still younger and he is like Spider Man, time freezes for Kobe when he shoots. It's good to know that Bryant won't leave. I think the chances of Garnett coming to LA would be slimmer if it involved a trade for Bryant. I think one of my main aspects to attract Kevin Garnett would be Kobe as a fellow player. By the time the 2 years pass for the clause, Lakers will never trade Bryant for Garnett. I'd be kinda bummed out if Odom left involving KG, but if it helps the team then it needs to be done. BUT..... We'll just have to sitback and watch what happens.
Kobe has claus in his contract stating he chooses where he goes even if he is traded. He is definetly not headed to Minnesota. If this is true in the least, we should let Odom racking up those 20/10/5 games till he burst and try and get Kwame going and work a Odom/Kwame/1st rounder for Garnett trade.
I like the sound of the Odom/Kwame/and 1st rounder. I think Minnesota would buy that. Worked for Miami and Shaq, we got Odom at the best, Butler was alright, and Grant was dead weight.
Thats giving up a LOT of Kevin Garnett. That would give us this lineup PG- Smush SG- Kobe SF- Devean George PF-Garnett C -Mihm Harldy anything getting excited over...tho a dominant big man and a great outside player has been known to work before.... ; )

It is a lot to give up, but I'd take the gamble. This team is good enough to make the playoffs and next summer the Lakers can go after every hungry veteran looking for a ring. Sam Cassell would be a prime target with KG recruiting him over. The Lakers actually don't have a first round pick this year, unless they are in the lottery, otherwise it goes to Atlanta via Boston.

Kobe is a proven winner. KG hasn't actually proven he can go all the way. I know that he hasn't really had much of an opportunity to do so, but if he come's to the Lakers, the circumstances will be the same. I don't think the tandem of Lamar Odom and KG can win us a championship. I'm going to be very unpopular by saying Kobe is better than KG. Also, by saying it's easier to find a quality SG, the point it missed that in order to get this quality SG, we will need to trade KG. I can't think of a Kobe type SG, i.e Vince Carter, T-Mac, even Dwayne Wade that would be traded for just Lamar Odom and some scrap. KG would have to be involved in the trade!

The Lakers bench is not all that bad, they proved that against Denver. Anyway, this might attract free agents to LA in the future years. So talent will make it's way to LA.
NO i would NEVER trade Kobe for Garnett because Kobe is more exciting to watch for me and I love this guys talent.

Would you love the upcoming season's if we played the way we did last year but Kobe produced his usual highlight reel play's? I'm with keeping Kobe because I believe he is a better player and a better fit for the Lakers than the big ticket.
