<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Isiah Thomas, who never needs a reason to make a trade, may have more incentive than ever to shake up his team. After three games - all losses - it is clear that Larry Brown is not enamored with the Knicks' point guard situation. "Look at our roster," Brown said yesterday. "We're not real deep in the backcourt right now." Doing something about it, however, is no easy task. Most teams are reluctant to make significant changes this early, so it could take another month before any trades are made. The Denver Nuggets are looking for front-court help with Nene out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. The Knicks gladly would trade Malik Rose or Maurice Taylor, but the contracts of both veterans are deemed undesirable. The Nuggets could emerge as trading partner for several reasons; they have three point guards on their roster - Andre Miller, Earl Boykins and Earl Watson - and Watson is the odd man out thus far. On Sunday, Watson told the Denver Post that he's in a "challenging situation," but that he would not complain over his lack of playing time</div> http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...rk_blockbuster/
Watson wouldn't be available until Dec. 15th. I actually think Andre Miller would be the player traded if the Nuggets decide to deal. He's not the prototypical point guard George Karl likes and isn't as good defensively as Watson. However, Miller would fit well with the Knicks and Larry Brown because A) He doesn't shoot 3 pointers He's big enough to allow Marbury to play SG. I don't think the Knicks have the players to pry either guard away, but at least Isiah is trying.
Not surprising that the Knicks want a new PG after the way Starbury's been playing. Andre Miller could be a nice fit in there.
I could see a Crawford for Andre Miller trade but nothing else that really makes sense. Andre Miller will be able to play at the PG in NY with Marbury at the 2, and Crawford will be able to play at the 2 guard spot for the Nuggets. The Nuggets really have no true 2nd option on their team, so Crawford could potentially be the answer. Other than that, can put together any situations desirable for the Nuggets.
I can't see anyone taking Rose or Mo's contract, regardless of the possible advantages down the line. Knicks would need to part with Crawford if they want something from Denver.
I'd be extremely happy if the Jamal Crawford for Andre Miller trade went down, Earl isnt bad either but we need to get rid of Crawford he's becoming a cancer not because of his complaining, because of his play. Players can complain all they want but usually unless there Vince Carter there play doesnt get worse, but JC is just making me not like him more and more each and every day. I think that Andre would be a good fit for New York and Stephon could successfully move to the 2 with him in town.
I don't know, I really just have a feeling that it would be better if Miller stayed and Watson got traded. IMO, it seems better for the Nuggets
What you said would be the logical thing for the Nuggets while at the same time it wouldnt. What would the point of bringing Earl Watson in be if they were just going to trade him 5 games into the season? They brought him in because they thought that deal with Boston was going to go down for Pierce and Andre Miller would've been shipped, so to me it seems that they would rather keep Watson now because he's a better defender and because he was just brought in rather than Andre.
