First off... congrats on our first win. Not the prettiest win but i'll take it... second, why the hell were the fans booing Francis during the game? He wasn't traded because he opted out, Steve wanted to stay in Houston and helped the Rockets for such a long time, i just dont understand why the fans wouldnt cheer him, or at least not boo him... Boos? I didnt hear any boos. We'll if fans did boo I would not like to be associated with them. I wouldn't boo Stevie, not after all hes done for the Rockets.

I think there were some boos because he was killing us on the field.

I would never boo francis, last year I think he got like 16 points in the 1st quarter against houston, and I couldn't help but to cheer for every shot he made.

He played very well, we didnt have a mcgrady to shut him down ofcourse, so the fans booed when they saw how well he was playing.

that and some people (fans) are just dumases

I think igotask8board is right they were just booing when Francis would heat up. I love Michael Finley but if he starts to kill my Mavs then he's my worst enemy. Congrats for Nelson on a great comeback.

Actually, Francis was apparently booed before tip-off as well...

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Francis played for Houston from 1999-2004 and was traded in a blockbuster deal that brought McGrady to Houston in June 2004. He was booed when he was introduced and almost every time he touched the ball on Tuesday night, but shrugged off the jeers to go 12-of-26 from the field.</div>

First of all, this was a great way to get our first win of the season. We really needed this win because the Rockets are a playoff calibur team. Steve Francis did well against his former team and it feels great to finally win a game.

I am very disapointed that I didn't get to watch this game. I didn't get home until very late last night and I still haven't seen any highlights from the game. Luckily I taped it and I am about to watch it. After looking at the stats from the game, I am looking forward to seeing how Dwight Howard did against Yao Ming. He racked up his second double double in two games and held Yao to only 17 points. Well I will go watch this game and then get back and post some analysis.

Also, why would fans boo Francis in Houston? He was a great player for the Rockets and did nothing to upset that franchise. It is a completely different situation from Tracy McGrady who left Orlando in bad terms and I'm clueless right now to what the fans in Houston were thinking.

thanks for the link MagicMadness... I read that one as well. I dont understand the houston fans. We have a right to jeer McGrady but Francis was just a victim of an owners greed and a player's ego. I just hope we can cheer him on through some good years in orlando.

I kinda blame the media on this take. A lot of the time the media would play off Steve's agressive side and call him more of a problem to Yao. Steve Francis' main strength is creating and scoring ... and Yao needed a player to get him the ball in the paint. I think this made it come off as Stevie was out there for himself when playing for the Rockets - and the hometown fans obviously were a sucker for it... I think the only goal Steve has out on the floor is to win - and his way of winning comes through scoring.

Theres always some jerks. Maybe a bit more than usual got into the game that night. Ya never know about the boos. The media might blow things out saying he got booed every time he touched the ball.

hmm dont know why they booed Francis.. just reminds me of the game against houston and how we booed T-Mac all game. and i remember it seemed to fire him up... but everyone booed when he touched the ball anyway, including me. but what did Francis do to deserve that from the Rockets fans?

Here are some Magic highlights. A member of my board posts highlights after almost every game.

Despite his play, Francis was really loved in Houston. I think the boos might extend from his comments towards Van Gundy. I've been impressed with his play this year, he looks more confident. I don't think I saw him hog the ball against Houston, and he made some nice passes.
